IMPACT Star Gone? ROH Got Other Promotion’s Match Cut, Rousey to SD? and More!

A few weeks back, Konnan claimed that LAX would never have to deal with the OGz again; a group made up of Eddie Kingston (King), Homicide and Hernandez.   Well rumor has it that their deal did in fact expire and the match against the Lucha Brothers was it for them for now.  There are those in the company that want to bring them back, but with the primary reason of their return being the feud with LAX, there isn’t much for them to be doing.  Personally, I want Kingston back.  He’s one of the better talents going today.

In other Konnan news, the Hall of Fame Luchadore was apparently hoping to return in 2019 to wrestle, after getting himself in better shape.  He agreed to fight Low Ki for the Major League Wrestling World Championship on the 13th or 14th of December as MLW goes to Miami, Florida.  This isn’t the only match he is set to take on, as a rematch against his famed rival Vampiro awaits on the books sometime down the road as well; unless things have changed.

In a case of “did we/didn’t we”, Ring of Honor denied Border City Wrestling and IMAPCT Wrestling the right to air a match featuring oVe taking on Tyson Dux, Petey Williams and Chris Sabin at the 25th Anniversary show of BCW.  Sabin is currently under a ROH contract, even though he’s wrestled most of the year in New Japan Pro Wrestling.  Delirious (Hunter Johnson) the head booker of ROH has been known to be incredibly hard to get along with, leading to many top young stars leaving well before a bigger promotion comes calling.  Men like Michael Elgin, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reily, Keith Lee, Mike Bennett (Kanellis), Moose and others all left before other deals were made.  It feels like Sabin might be the next guy out.

WrestlingINC is reporting that Fox wants Ronda Rousey on the Blue Brand when they begin airing SmackDown next fall.  Fox wants a more sport oriented show, with sports stars, a refocus on matches and big stars.  Ronda Rousey fits their preference.   This news isn’t surprising at all, as Fox is also rumored to want Daniel Cormier on commentary for the move as well.  Cormier is a duel champion in the UFC at the moment but is a huge pro wrestling fan, and his championship pedigree, along with his love of the industry would make Cormier a perfect fit.  But I doubt it stops there.  Matt Riddle, a former UFC fighter might also be on the Blue Brand as well at this rate.  It does appear that anyone with sporting name value will be thought of as a focus of SmackDown.  And considering Fox is essentially bankrolling WWE’s expansion plans, it’d behoove the WWE to do what they want.

One man not giving any breaks to David Arquette is Jake Roberts.  The WWE Hall of Famer is non too pleased with the now infamous match between Arquette and convicted felon Nick Gage.  While speaking to Joe Rogan, Roberts told Arquette to “…get a day job”.  Roberts was flippant about Arquette, referring him to a (WWE) diva, and wondered why a man, who was bleeding from right near his jugular, didn’t stay and opted to leave.

In other news, Major League Wrestling is apparently working the real injury to Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) into an angle.  MJF is currently on the shelf with an elbow injury, one that may sideline him for a few months.  MLW sent a press release of sorts to Fightful.com and revealed to them that if MJF is unable to defend his belt during the December 13th and 14th t.v. tapings in Miami, Florida, that he will be stripped of his Middleweight Championship.  Currently MJF is in a five-way ladder match against Kotto Brazil, Jason Cade, Andrew Everett and IMPACT star Dezmond Xavier; who is making his debut.  If MJF can’t go, it’ll become a four way ladder match to crown a new champion.
