Kingsman Update, Avengers 5 Getting New Directors? and More!

Despite the lackluster response to Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Matthew Vaughn and Fox are doubling down on the franchise.  We’re aware that there is a prequel in the works, but according to Collider there’s a third film featuring Taron Egerton and Colin Firth in the works as well.  The second sequel will begin production after the prequel.   Assuming nothing goes sideways. The prequel will be more about the Kingsman, how they came to be and will focus on the period it’s set in.  A t.v. series is also being discussed as well.

For those wondering  what Peter Parker will be like in the upcoming Miles Morales project, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Chris Miller has your answer.  Miller is a producer on the film, and revealed that Peter Parker is more of an amalgamation, just with a slight twist to some of the historical moments.  Miller describes it as;

I think the idea is that this Peter Parker is an amalgam of all the Peter Parkers that you have seen in popular culture.  So there’s elements of the Homecoming Tom Holland Spider-Man, of an Andrew Garfield Spider-Man, of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man, of Spider-Man from various comics and TV shows. And sort of in this universe the Spider-Man that comes to Miles’ world is one that looks similar to but is not exactly the same as the ones that you know. And so, that’s why all of those plots are similar, but there’s a twist to them.

In other Into the Spider-Verse news, apparently Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac is in the film.  He’s playing  Miguel O’Hara AKA Spider-Man 2099, one of the more popular multiverse spider-characters.

The  Avengers film will look a lot different in it’s fifth installment beyond just a huge change in casting.  Apparently the Russo brothers, who are directing the 4th film, will only return to the MCU if they get to handle the iconic Secret Wars event, continuing by saying;

Hopefully they’re about to get their hands on a few of [Fox’s Marvel characters].  Listen, my second favorite character growing up, and one of my prized possessions in my comic book collection is Incredible Hulk #181, which of course is the first appearance of Wolverine. I feel like the mission of the Marvel Universe is to keep expanding and surprising people. Surprise them with casting choices, surprise them with story choices. If we’re moving into this world of crossover events, certainly that affords opportunity for other large-scale stories from the books like Secret Wars — which was another favorite comic of mine as a kid. There’s big potential moving forward if the Fox/Disney deal closes.
