Jim Ross Reveals Moment in Wrestling He Missed Out On, Major Name Injured and More! – Wednesday Night News Superpost

What Moment Did Jim Ross Wish He Could of Called – Despite Eric Bishoff’s attempts to hinder the night Mick Foley won the WWE Championship, it’s still regarded as one of the best moments from the Attitude Era. Jim Ross, who was the play by play guy at the time had suffered a bout of Bell’s Pasly right around the time Mick Foley won the WWE Championship. Because of the Bell’s Pasly attack he suffered, he had to miss the night Foley won the belt, which apparently meant almost as much to Ross as it did to Foley. Ross is quoted as saying;

I worked so diligently and with all my heart to get Mick hired because I felt like he was a good citizen and a great opponent for The Undertaker, which I needed at that time. I didn’t get to call that match. That’s one of my regrets as far as Raw was that I was ill when Foley won his title. I thought it was a moment I would have loved to experience with him.

Major Name Injured – Some people can’t catch a break, as Paige has suffered what appears to be a back injury. The injury occurred Wednesday, and saw the ref stop the match. It’s being reported that it was a kick from Sasha Banks to her back that caused the injury. It’s been only about a month since she returned from injury. Paige has scoliosis, and the injury may be due to that. However, considering her history of neck problems, and the fact that Paige apparently landed a blow around her spine, there could be far more serious injuries that may of transpired. If the injury is bad enough then we may have seen the last of Paige in a WWE ring.

Mick Foley did tweet out that Paige is “doing better” after a scary moment. So it’s possible that the injury may of been a pinched nerve of some kind, which can cause numbness. Pinched nerves are often a minor nuisance but can feel like a major problem; especially for someone with issues with their neck. That’s the word going around right now but we’re still waiting on an official word.

Quick Hits – Johnny Gargano and Andrade Almas are going to main event “Takeover: Philly” on January 27th for the NXT Championship. Disney denies that the “Han Solo” posters that came out today are authentic. IMPACT Wrestling has let go of Bob Rosen , the former Ring and Transportation Manager. RAW only dropped about 80,000 viewers on Christmas; not a bad loss at all, considering. Marvel revived the Ultimate Universe in Brian Michael Bendis’ “Spider-Men” series.
