ComicCorp News: ‘Call of Duty’ Next MCU?, Fast and Furious Bringing back Major Deceased Character? And More!

It’s late/early and I’m tired. Lets just get into it, eh members of the Space Monkey Mafia?

Call of Duty – So, there’s a story going around where Activision Blizzard’s co-presidents Stacey Sher and Nick van Dyk have announced a deal in place to bring the video game franchise, Call of Duty, to the big screens. But not just one movie, but an entire universe of franchises.

“We have plotted out many years,” Sher said. “We put together this group of writers to talk about where we were going. There’ll be a film that feels more like ‘Black Ops,’ the story behind the story. The ‘Modern Warfare’ series looks at what it’s like to fight a war with the eyes of the world on you. And then maybe something that is more of a hybrid, where you are looking at private, covert operations, while a public operation is going on.”

God….that’s horrifying.

Fast and Furious Bringing Back Dead Character – Talk around the water cooler has deceased character Han Seoul-Oh (Sung Kang) returning to the franchise in some capacity in the 8th installment of the franchise. When speaking in an interview, franchise writer Chris Morgan had the following to say.

“Now, that’s funny because I’ve actually been thinking about that a lot,” Morgan said. “So it’s interesting that you and I are on the same wavelength there. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out. I love Sung — he’s one of my favorite people on the planet.”
