Why Did Vince Bring El Patron Back? – After about a year away from the WWE, Alberto El Patron returned to the company and started a feud with John Cena. Flanked by Dutch Mantell, many believed this was El Patron’s return to stardom within the WWE but it ended up being more of a lose detour. When asked about why he was brought back, El Patron cited Vince McMahon, saying;
To be honest it’s because, and this came from Triple H himself and Johnny Ace; apparently Vince [McMahon] was mad after a TV taping because he didn’t feel that the heels were being real heels. You know nowadays heels want to be cheered and be cooled, but in those days when a heel was a badass and ass-kicker, those days are gone,” he said. “Nowadays, everyone wants to be cheered and wants thousands of followers on social media. They are afraid of heat that the business can give them, so McMahon wasn’t happy, and believe it or not Triple H agreed to it, so he said, let’s do it. He mentioned how i was doing great things on the independent circuit and Lucha Underground and how I was in phenomenal shape. After a while of negotiations, I ended up going back.
A New NJPW Game Coming? – New Japan has been involved in the world of video games before, and there is word going around now that they could be once again. The January 3r’d fan event is sold out, with three tag matches occuring and signings of several major names. There is also word about a press conference to announce a new NJPW video game, but that’s just speculation at this point.
RAW Star Sent to Hospital – Brian Kendrick was injured last night during a match with Hideo Itami. Apparently threw a GTS to hard and gave Kendrick a reason to visit the hospital post match. No word on the injury as of yet, but it isn’t expected to be too serious; though that could always change.
Update: Well it’s a mix bag. Kendrick did suffer a broken orbital bone and a fractured nasal bridge, but that appears to be all, as no signs of brain injury were reported. I’m sure he’s hurting but whenever a facial injury occurs, you’re worried about his ability to breath and any injuries to his brain. So he’ll miss several months more than likely but all in all, could of been much worse.
Perhaps it’s time to rethink knee/leg strikes to the face?
Quick Hits – Jonathan Coachman and Torrie Wilson both believe that the time is right for the XFL to make a comeback. So you know, that amounts to a hill of beans. Somehow John Cena is being considered the favorite for the Royal Rumble by odds makers. Show’s how smart they are. After last night’s win, Jason Jordan is the only wrestler to ever hold the FCW, NXT, SmackDown and now RAW Tag Team Titles. Dean Ambrose has been confirmed to be out for 9 months.
