Which Villain Would the MCU Bring Back – There isn’t one good villain in all of the MCU. Partly because they keep killing off the good ones. The memorable ones. The ones that’ll make you hate the character for decades. Nope. All dead. Kevin Feige though, the honcho at Marvel, knows this and laments over the loss of one character; Obadiah Stane, the first villain. He was the man who tried to kill Tony Start, used his inventions against him, and became the Iron Monger. Of course, starting the tradition of this plot device, Stane died in the third act of “Iron Man” and now Feige wants him back, saying;
As you may recall, when he was hired, he was a secondary villain to the Mandarin. And as we were prepping the movie we realized we didn’t want to do the Mandarin in that movie. And when we took him out and made Obadiah the lead villain, Iron Man became what Iron Man became. But what was required is that Iron Monger [Obadiah Stane] had to go down into that arc reactor.
Apparently the original idea was to have Stark land at Stane’s armor, rip it open and reveal Stane had fled. That obviously was not the case.
How Accurate Will “The Dark Phoenix” Be? – Alexandra Shipp, who played the new Storm in “X-Men: Apocalypse” recently revealed in an interview that the upcoming X-Men film; “Dark Phoenix”, will be comic book accurate.
As a fan of X-Men, you are going to be very happy, because I’m a huge fan of X-Men and so is our director, Simon [Kinberg], who’s also writing and executive producing it. He is not letting anything go. It’s very accurate to the comics and he really gives the fans what they’ve been asking for, in my opinion. All I can say is that you’re really going to like it.
Major “Supergirl” Guest Star – How this one escaped is anyone’s guess. Carl Lumbly, the voice of J’onn J’onzz from the animated “Justice League” series, is guest starring on the Martian-centric episode of “Supergirl”. He’s apparently cast to play J’onn J’onzz’s (David Harewood) best friend. So expect him to be the villain.
Quick Hits – “Thor: Ragnarok” is being called “Marvel’s most entertaining movie yet”, but critics also hit it for being too light-hearted and having no meaningful drama at all. The second trailer for “Marvel’s The Punisher” has dropped.
