New Front Runner’s for FOX? – While Disney didn’t agree to a deal to acquire the FOX IP, Sony has apparently emerged as competitors. The company still owns the “Spider-Man” movie rights, and will return the web slinger back under their umbrella sooner rather than later, alongside the new Tom Hardy lead “Venom” movie, and the rest of the Spider-Man spin off’s. The company would acquire all of Fox’s IP’s ranging from the “X-Men” to “Archer” and anything in between, on all their networks, save for Fox Sports 1 and Fox News.
The move makes all the sense in the world for Sony, as they would acquire the X-Men and the Fantastic Four franchises, and would be able to have their own shared universe independent of anything Marvel and Disney are doing. We’ll see what happens going forward from here.
