Major ‘Riverdale’ Spin Off Confirmed, Why ‘Hellfire Club’ Got Dumped and More! – ComicCorp News

Major Character Joining ‘Riverdale’ – The CW are moving forward with “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”, a spinoff of “Riverdale”. Now, it’s assumed she’ll join the series for a one-off, but that’s not a guarantee. They did something similar with Grant Gustin on “Arrow”, but his “Flash” series wasn’t announced until after the backdoor pilot, whilst “Sabrina” is getting a pilot order before we ever see her, meaning there’s a good chance that she’ll never pop up on “Riverdale” at all. The report also has four actresses attached, who all tried out. They are Charlie Torr (Rake), Ariel Kaplan (Neighbours), Bekka Walker (The Mindy Project), and newcomer Adelina Hudson.

The line of dialogue they appear to be reading hints at her ascension to her powers;

I… wanted you to see where I was born, Harvey. Not in Greendale General, like it says on my birth certificate. Here. In this grove of trees. Almost sixteen years ago. … And, uhm, where I’ll be reborn this Saturday night. On my birthday. At the stroke of midnight. In the middle of a — a penumbral lunar eclipse. The kind that only happens once every sixty-six years. … That’s why I can’t go to Rosalind’s Halloween party this weekend.

Opinion: I’m interested. This sounds super intriguing.

Why The Hellfire Club Got Canned – According to the Entertainment Weekly, the reason why the FX show “The Hellfire Club” was never picked up was due to the fact the series had “…too many characters and not enough depth of character…” within those characters. For a character driven show, and to have boring and lackluster characters is literally a nonstarter. They also report that the series would be too expensive and too complicated to do the show. I’m not sure why expensive, maybe they wanted a period piece?

Quick Hits – “Venom” has added Tom Connolly as fight coordinator and Chris O’Hara and Jack Gill as stunt coordinators. Cindy Moon is being teased for “Avengers Infinity War”. “Injustice 2” debuts Ryan Choi’s Atom.
