GFW Talents Shoot on New Management, John Cena’s New Role and More! – WrestleCorp News

Sorry for the late update, but it’s been one of them days.

Low Ki Comments on State of GFW – A lot of people are looking for the fire. They believe they’re seeing smoke, so where’s the fire? Well when it comes to GFW, no one on the roster besides James Storm has been through all of the nonsense outside of Low Ki. When asked about the reason for returning, the differences and more, he said;

His return to GFW and how it came about he said:

I didn’t expect to be in this position, I was actually transitioning away from wrestling at the start of the year so it has been a pleasant surprise. I was approached by Sonjay Dutt about returning he explained to me it was now a different environment, they were focusing more on what we do in the ring now.

The similarities between GFW and early TNA:

The atmosphere right now at Global is very similar to how it was at the start of TNA, Jeff is leading the way, it is now seen as a place that gives opportunities to younger professionals who want to make a name for themselves.

Why he wears a suit while competing:

I actually did it first time round as a silent protest in Japan, at New Japan, I didn’t realise it would get the attention that it did, you have to realise where your limitations lie because the stitching can limit you, my return in April was an unaltered suit so I had to figure out fast what I was capable of doing and what I wasn’t.

His time in the WWE:

It was never my goal to go there in the first place, they approached me at my height of my career in Japan. I was hired virtually on the spot due to Vince McMahon seeing me live, they brought me in and then treated like someone who was just there, it was an opportunity I took but it was what it was, I have seen things have changed but it’s still operated by the same person.

Dutch and Bruce Speak Out – Two of the bigger profiled returns to the company backstage were Bruce Pritchard, and Dutch Mantell. Bruce was a Dixie Carter/Hulk Hogan guy, while Mantel was a Jeff Jarrett guy. When asked about the company, they said;

Bruce Prichard:

Well it’s a completely different company,” said Prichard. “From what I left and walking into it for me, from a talent standpoint and from being able to come in and who I am working with now. I gotta go in, I’m working with Jeff [Jarrett] (laughs). And it’s just a completely different environment from what it was before.

And when I sit there and I talk to him and we talk about the business and we talk about the future, I believe that there is actually an understanding when we talk to one another back and forth,” continued Prichard. “That wasn’t there before. I do believe the folks at Anthem have placed their confidence in him and the folks like Dutch [Mantel] and Jeremy [Borash] and different people that are involved now to allow the people who know what the hell they’re doing, allow them to do it.

And not try to come in and say ‘Nope you know what, we do this up here in Canada so I want you to do it like this because that’s how we do it.’ They’re actually allowing the business to be run and they’re listening to folks who have actually done it before. So the environment is night and day.

Frankly that was one of the selling points of me coming back into the fold. So it’s a completely different company in a short answer than what it was when I left.

Dutch Mantel:

Totally different like what Bruce said. Ownership sets the tone from top to bottom. When I was here before, the tone was always a little bit off. When I was here before, I didn’t know who ran the company to tell you the truth.

In WWE you have one guy in charge and that’s Vince McMahon. And when it goes to him it’s like going to the Supreme Court, his word is final. It’s exactly what it’s going to be.

But in TNA and this isn’t a knock on them but it was a rudderless ship and we were just floating out in the water sometimes. That’s the difference here. Anthem has taken over and they have put certain people in charge.

Chris Jericho Incident – Y2J was involved in…a shouting match. That’s what it was. TMZ is so desperate for views. Jericho had a brief shouting math wit ha fan, whom he considered rude, and who the fan believed was being unfairly treated by the future WWE hall of famer. Jericho apologized, not to the fan but to those “…involved”, and claimed it was all because the fan was a jerk. This isn’t news. This isn’t even good gossip. This is a night in New York City that 1.3 million people probably have on a nightly occurrence. Can’t wait for the leaked tapes of Sting jay-walking.

Scandal.

Quick Hits – ROH to debut at Odeum in Villa Park in Illinois, a former ECW stomping ground (Anarchy Rulz). John Cena joins Transformers spin-off film, “Bumblebee”.
