It May Be a Work, but It Doesn’t Make it Right and More Wrestling News

It’s National Women’s day, for some reason, and Ronda Rousey has straight up spat in the face of every little girl who’s followed her career in the WWE.

Never mind the fact she thinks her genes need to be shared with the world, don’t bother looking into the time she abused an ex-boyfriend because he was crying, and ignore all the times she’s gone beyond the scope of trash talking in tearing down her competitors.  Let’s ignore nearly a decade’s worth of evidence to show you she’s a shitty person.

Because we have new-low’s.

Let me preface this by saying this may be 100% endorsed by the WWE, god knows the WWE could use some hype.  Yes, fans who are too scared to get ‘worked’ will default to the “she’s working you” motif, but this isn’t that simple.  Rousey is a conspiracy theorist believer.  She thought Sandy Hook was a hoax.   Rousey beat up her ex and smacked him around in what I can only presume wasn’t a one time deal.  She married a guy who himself was accused of domestic violence.  She believed her own hype so much that when she lost, she contemplated suicide.  This is a woman who is known to be unhinged.  Who’s mother made her walk around as a child with broken bones in her feet to ‘toughen’ her up.

This woman is not mentally well.

I 100% believe this is real.  I might be wrong, I might be getting worked and I’m ok in admitting that.  Why?  Because Rousey has been a loose cannon for years.

“But if this is legit, why keep pushing her?”

Because the money’s probably guaranteed, and they know she’s causing people to tune in for this feud.  While they may not like it, they know they have to suck it up.  The Women’s Division is not that strong right now and without Rousey inciting fans, no way the match main events WrestleMania and is considered a success.

So they’re biting their tongue.  Keep in mind Rousey already broke down crying over the travel, she barely does by the way.  So the idea that Rousey would actually “tell it like it is” on  her personal YouTube page is perfectly reasonable and considering how she hates fans by and large – unless they make her look good – I don’t doubt she hates the WWE fanbase.

She’s been met with rejection, hesitation and dismissal by the fans and industry insiders since 2018’s Royal Rumble.  This is a woman who can’t be criticized by MMA experts and Hall of Famers; you think she’s ok taking lip from a dude in the 4th row?

Come on…

In Other News…

In  more news surrounding the departure of Arn Anderson, Dave Meltzer is reporting that wrestlers are very much on Arn’s side of things.  The apparent issue stems from the fact that Alicia Fox has been acting irrationally for months now, and it was just accepted as the norm.  Those wrestlers who knew of the events that went down were on Arn’s side, as no one seemingly knew Fox was unfit to perform.  If she was unfit that night, the idea was, that she was unfit many other nights prior.  Nights that weren’t Arn’s responsibility.

Fans of ROH in and around New York-proper may be getting Ring of Honor on a new network.  Sinclair Broadcasting, the ownership group of ROH, joined together with The New York Yankees, Amazon and several private equity firms to guy the YES Network.  The YES Network has been the home of the Yankees since it launched.  The idea I would imagine would be to use The YES Network to land on more cable and satellite providers, by using ROH, The Yankees (other sports teams as well in the area) and Amazon shows to appeal to new distributors.  While cable and satellite may have seen a decrease over the years, the facts are that with more and more and more $10 premium and up services popping up; eventually it’ll just be cheaper to go back to cable.  I think this groups sees it; though this is purely speculation at this point.

Stephanie McMahon doesn’t have a good reputation at all.  It may of been something that stems from years back.  We all know that Stephanie had no problem cheating with Triple H when he was seeing Chyna, romantically speaking.  We also know the rumors of her fucking Macho Man Randy Savage.  Now the rumors of Stephanie and Bruce Prichard of all people are making the rounds again.  Jerry Lawler back in 2001 was fired from the WWE and gave an interview where he claimed Prichard had sex with Stephanie McMahon.  Prichard denies these claims.  And frankly, why would Stephanie fuck Prichard?  Is it true? Who knows, I don’t trust anything this gutter-trash says in the first place, so a denial, especially one so repetitive, feels untrustworthy.  Maybe she was trying to piss off her dad? I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised one way or another.

Quick Hits IMPACT and TNT Pro are joining together for a Salute to the Troops event on April 12th at the Fort Campbell Army Post in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.  AJ Styles still has not signed a new contract with the WWE, despite people saying he’s going to.  The contract has been on the table for weeks, so what’s the hold up?  Yoshi-Hashi, Taichi, Chase Owens and Tomohiro Ishii all advanced in the NJPW Cup this morning by defeating Manabu Nakanishi, Tomoaki Honma, Juice Robin and Yugi Nagata respectively.  The Juice/Owens match was considered an upset.   Former ECCW standout El Phantasmo is heading to NJPW as a member of the Bullet Club.  GGG has signed a deal with DAZN, as was exepcted.  This follows news that Vitor Belfort and Roy Jones Jr. are reportedly heading towards a boxing match.
