Huge Wrestling Victories Over the Weekend, Aldis Reveals Huge NJPW News and More! – WrestleCorp News

Big Weekend for Results – Yes, by now you know who the G1 Climax 28 winner is, and that’s Hiroshi Tanahashi. Tanahashi battled Kota Ibushi in a classic, where both men were seconded by their respective best friends; Katsuyori Shibata and Kenny Omega respectively. Tanahashi will now take on Kenny Omega at WrestleKingdom in Janauary.

In other big news, Kevin Nash won the Big Time Wrestling Heavyweight title by defeating Flex Armstrong. Nash is 59, and Flex is in his mid-30’s. Congrats to the big man.

Also the biggest news in my opinion was the end of a near 500 day title reign. Chikara’s Grand Champion Juan Francisco de Coronado dropped his belt to Mr. Touchdown Mark Angelosetti. Angelosetti has been part of the Chikara roster for six years and has finally won the biggest prize in the company.

Congrats to all.

Nick Aldis Reveals Big NJPW Nugget – One of the biggest complaints against TNA under Dixie and then Hulk Hogan, were their use of Kazuchika Okada when he was in the company on loan for his excursion. In talking to Busted Open Radio, Nick Aldis revealed that he, The Young Bucks and Okada would play “Gator Golf” backstage due to the fact they weren’t being used. The huge revelation though, and the point often argued is how NJPW saw Okada at the time. Well, according to Aldis, NJPW sent Okada to TNA because they KNEW Okada was going to be their next top guy. Aldis is quoted as saying;

Me, The Young Bucks, Okada. I mean, New Japan told TNA this guys’s going to be our franchise player, not is probably going to be, is going to be and they still [didn’t use him well.] We were all there playing Gator Golf in the dressing room because we weren’t booked.

Quick Hits – Melina and Enzo Amore double down in their claims that they’re done with wrestling. Condolences go out to the Neidhart and Hart families today as Jim Neidhart has passed away. Tye Dillinger may have suffered an injury at a WWE live event over the weekend.  Petey Williams talked inn an interview recently and revealed that not only doe she believe Chris Jericho will come in to IMPACT but that he believes they can get a better TV deal if they he does.
