Star Wars Bringing in Major Extended Universe Character? ‘My Hero Academia’ Film Gets Synopsis and More! – ComicCorp News

Idris Elba to Direct Netflix Film? – Idris Elba didn’t fair too well with the last summer’s “Dark Tower”, and this year ain’t so hot either, as he was killed off in the MCU.  However, Elba is hoping to really stamp home something impressive.  He’s starring, directing and producing a modern remake to the Victor Hugo classic, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”.  No other information on casting or it’s release is available as of yet.

My Hero Academia Movie Synopsis – The upcoming “My Hero Academia” film will hit theaters this summer and we finally have a synopsis as to what the movie will be about.

All Might gets an invite from an old friend to attend the world’s premiere science gathering on a man-made island overseas.  However, a mysterious villain attacks the expo, and a plan to shake up the hero organization begins. Can Deku save everyone from this unprecedented crisis?

It sounds like the film is going to follow in the shoes of other massive anime’s turned films, like “Pokemon” and be a self-contained story with no direct ramifications on the core story of the series.  The film, entitled “My Hero Academia: The Two Heroes“, will debut in Japan in August.

‘Star Wars’ Bringing in Thrawn? – The folks at Star Wars may very well be goosing up to bring in Grand Admiral Thrawn into the Star Wars Cinematic Universe.  The character was wildly popular in the former extended universe that was erased upon Disney’s acquisition of the properties but the character still maintained a strong fanbase.  While the character has sense appeared in the canonical “Star Wars: Rebels”, some believe that Thrawn will be a villain in the Obi-Wan Kenobi film.   A leaked video of Adam Templar in Thrawn like makeup was released on Vimo.  This may just be for fun on the actors part, or it may be for real, but until we have better evidence this seems like a “grain of salt” situation.  It’s also been announced today that a Boba Fett movie is apparently in the works with James Mangold at the helm.

Quick Hits – “Incredibles 2” is currently tracking towards a $140 million plus opening weekend.  “Batman Beyond’s” Batman is Terry McGinnis, and now his little brother Matt will be the first ever Robin in the “Batman Beyond” version of characters.  The first look at the character in full Robin garb is just to the left.  Brie Larson allegedly already filmed her “Avengers 4” scenes, before ever starting on “Captain Marvel”.  With Netflix’s stock rising $151.6 billion today, they now have a higher market value than Disney.  DCEU and Zack Snyder storyboard artist Jay Oliva described Snyder’s five film DCEU arch as “….epic, grand, emotional, joyful and unforgettable.”  Shame Warner Bros. bucked under pressure to give fans more Marvel-toned films.  It looks like “Transformers 7” is dead for now, as Paramount has pulled all future plans for the franchise off their schedule.   Melbourne, Australia’s Etihad Stadium will be called Marvel Stadium starting on September 1st.  Bruce Campbell on Twitter said he’s all for the “Evil Dead” franchise to continue without him.
