Man of Steel Sequel Coming? Sony Trying for Dark SuperHero Universe? and More! – ComicCorp News

Superman Sequel Coming? – Henry Cavill, the man who played Superman in several DCEU films, most recently ‘Justice League’, wants a true sequel to ‘Man of Steel’.   Speaking to Collider Cavill revealed he’s talked to some people, and is quoted as saying;

I’m having a lot of conversations, behind-the-scenes, with certain people and we will hopefully be having conversations with other people who are also behind-the-scenes to make things start happening.

It is very much in my desire to do a Man of Steel 2, a direct sequel to Man of Steel, and there is a whole bunch of Superman story that I want to tell. There is a whole style of Superman’s character that I’m very keen to tell and I’m looking forward to the opportunity.

Sony Working on Vampire Super Hero Film? – Sony has a unique idea going for them if the “Venom” trailer is any indication; a horror-centric superhero universe.    Apparently Antoine Fuqua, who directed ‘Training Day’, The Equalizer films, ‘King Arthur’, and  ‘Magnificat Seven’; was approached by Sony to helm a Morbius film.  The film would focus on the vampire Morbius, a villain of the Spider-Man mythos.  This falls in line with Sony’s idea of making darker, grittier hero-centric films, like ‘Venom’.

This idea has me all sorts of excited, due to the prospect of a modern day Universal Monsters universe, with horror characters like Venom, Morbius and others.

Quick Hits – The Sonic the Hedgehog film is expected out in 2019. JJ Abram claims that they’re developing a true ‘Coverfield’ sequel that’ll be in theaters ‘soon’.  Paramount is developing two different ‘Star Trek’ films, whether that means sequels or two different scripts for the 4th film is unknown.
