Cruiserweight’s Show Cancelled? Major NJPW Match Coming to ROH and More! – WrestleCorp News

Major ROH Match Signed – Despite it being a NJPW feud, and could easily get top billing over there; Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes will happen at ROH’s Supercard of Honor XII event. The match has been teased ever since the Longbeach show last year and will culminate finally. The feud is also involved in the Bullet Club’s current shakeup, with most of the club save for Marty Scurll taking Cody’s side.

Cruiserweight Shows Future – WWE’s Cruiserweight live shows are being shelved for the interim. The hopes when they were first planned were to have guys like Austin Aries, Neville and eventually Neville all apart of them. Then Aries left, and then Neville. It was Neville’s departure that made them have pause initially I’m told but the idea for these shows apparently dated back over a year, it was only recently they became reality. With Neville’s departure, the company was hoping that Enzo Amore’s status and newfound stardom would generate the attendance and hype needed but with him being released over his rape allegations, the company shuttled the shows for now.

We can confirm PWInsider’s report that the WWE isn’t done with the idea. The hope is to run new shows sometime after WrestleMania, after the WWE has rebuilt the Cruiserweight Division. With Rockstar Spud, Hideo Itami, and eventual call ups in Roderick Strong and Johnny Gargano, the WWE is hoping to have a more flushed out talent pool next time they try these shows.

Stephanie McMahon Caught in a Lie? – Stephanie McMahon spoke with The Times of India recently and was caught in a huge lie. While speaking with the media about the rise of the women’s division within the WWE, and Tirple H’s impact on their ascension, Stephanie told a boldface lie when she said;

…it really gave rise to the voice of our audience and they knew they could impact the content of our show.

Anyone who knows the WWE knows that they book what they want, regardless of the fanbase. It’s part of the reason the ratings continue to go down every quarter, as more and more fans become disenfranchised. More and more talent the fans want to see get buried, like Finn Balor. Other talent that are getting a push aren’t getting the push the fans they deserve, namely Braun Strowman. Fans routinely cheer for him, and want the belt on him. Yet the WWE continues to push for Roman Reigns to be the guy, despite the fervor against him. It’s not surprising to see Stephanie claim that the fans have a real voice, that’s always been the WWE’s M.O.; give fans the illusion of choice. that being said, her putting over HHH’s handling of the women’s division should be noted and comended because ever since he took over NXT, the women have been more polished.

Ten years ago a woman the caliber of Eva Marie would of been one of the best on the roster, not one of the worst. So credit where credit’s ue.

Quick Hits – Tyson Kidd reveals he has zero animosity towards Samoa Joe for Joe ending his career. IMPACT Wrestling continues to improve in it’s ratings throughout the 2018 year, hitting 319,000 viewers. Rey Mysterio is hinting at a possible match with AJ Styles, but Mysterio remains a free agent at the moment. Drew McIntyre will be inducted into the ICW Hall of Fame, and will be in attendance for the event. WWE has approved the appearance.
