Rousey No Where Near Signing? Swann’s Marriage Combustible? and More! – WrestleCorp News

Ronda Rousey Not Signing With WWE? – Several publications last week claimed that Ronda Rousey was about to sign with the WWE, but today we have another non-wrestling centric source weighing in; TMZ. Despite what Sport Illustrated and USA Today were cited for saying, TMZ is saying that no deal was in place, at all. They cite a source very close to the situation who claims that Ronda hasn’t even begun negotiating with the WWE, let alone about to sign.

Rich Swann Update – In some sad news, Dave Meltzer is apparently reporting that those who knew Swann and Su Yung prior to the incident last weekend would be the first to tell you that it wasn’t surprising. Meltzer cites wrestlers close to the two, who have told him that this type of situation was possible and many believe that the relationship was “combustible”.

Swann’s attorney released a statement, saying;

At this point, no criminal charges have been filed officially against him so depending on how that process plays out will determine our scope of representation. We’re hopeful for a fair and quick resolution on behalf of Mr. Swann, but ultimately the state attorney will make their decision (on potential charges) when they deem it appropriate.

Meltzer believes that his WWE career might be over regardless of what happens next.

New ROH Title – ROH has officially created the best World Title in wrestling. Taking inspiration from the old WCW World Heavyweight and first TNA World Heavyweight championship belt, this new belt is large, and echoes the history that Cody’s father, Dusty was very much apart of. The title is a huge step up, and feels like a real world title. All ROH needs to do now is update their near decade old logo and color scheme.

Quick Hits – Brutus Beefcake alleges that Scott Hall showed up late to a fan convention, reportedly “messed up” and got into with King Kong Bundy. Noam Dar has had successful knee surgery, and will be out for several months. Teddy Hart has been released from prison after his charges have been dropped. He’s returning to work this weekend in Pennsylvania.
