Avengers Infinity War Trailer Debuts, Daisy Ridley Done With ‘Star Wars’? and More! – ComicCorp News

Infinity War Trailer Debuts – After leaks, previews, rumors and the like, we finally have the first trailer for the “Avengers: Infinity War” trailer. The film will serve as the end of the original phase of Marvel films, as it launches Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel among others into the second part of the shared universe.

DC Films Building Up to Major Showdown? – We know two major villains still exist in the DCEU, and those are Lex Luthor and Deathstroke. There is no plan for a “Legion of Doom” film but the eventual goal is to have them battle the Justice League. Warner Bros. is apparently going to introduce more characters across “Wonder Woman 2”, “Aquaman”, “Flashpoint”, “Suicide Squad 2” and others in preparation for “Justice League 2”.

It would make sense that Black Adam, Black Manta, Cheetah, and Deadshot will join the team as well.

Daisy Ridley Done With Star Wars? – While the folks at Disney fully intend on doing Episodes X, XI and XII, there is a huge hitch in that plan; Daisy Ridley won’t be returning to the franchise once her contract is up. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Ridley was quoted in regards to returning after the third film in the new saga, saying;

No, no, no. I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out, because ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films. So in my head, it’s three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out.

Fox and Disney Deal Not Dead? – In what could just be a ploy to get Sony to bid more and faster, there is a rumor that Disney and Fox have re-entered negotiations. Disney would acquire all of their film and television rights, but not their news and sports outlets. No word on what would happen to Fox, FX, and FXX. The idea though would be Disney’s acquisition of the Fox comic properties. They would also acquire other Fox properties as well, no way would Disney spend a billion or so dollars on just two comic properties.

Disney would acquire The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, The Gifted, the Gordan Ramsey cooking shows, the Teen Choice Awards, as well as any lingering animated properties from their Fox Kid’s block that they still retain the rights to.

On the film side, a big reason for this acquisition could be due to Disney wanting to reacquire the sole distribution rights for the original “Star Wars” films. Plus then you’d have the “Avatar” films, “Titanic”, “Home Alone”, “The Chipmunks” “Planet of the Apes”, and “Ice Age” to join that listing. So there’s clearly a huge amount of properties that would benefit the Disney brand.

Quick Hits – Disney has cast Liu Yifei aka Crystal Liu to play Mulan in the titular live action remake of the animated film. “Logan” lands on the National Board of Review’s top ten list. “Ant-Man and the Wasp” may explore the Marvel multi-verse. DC TV has fired Andrew Kreisberg following sexual harassment accusations.
