IMPACT/Lucha Underground News, CRASH Wrestling Dealing With a Major Issue and More! – WrestleCorp News

IMPACT Laying off Staff – The long awaited layoffs at the Nashville offices are under way. I’m told several key staffers are moving to Toronto, but most of those working there aren’t vital to the wrestling side of things, and are working in a role no different than the average office worker. The company will fold everyone to the Toronto offices.

AroLucha/Konnan Update – Aroluxe, the former minority owners of IMPACT Wrestling, have started their own promotion called Aro Lucha, and have brought Konnan on board to be their head writer. Konnan has already told IMPACT Wrestling of this, and they seem open to working with them. Konnan hopes to bring both of these American groups talent from CRASH, which is his number one responsibility. Within IMPACT, Konnan is just an onscreen character, unlike guys like Sonjay Dutt and Gail Kim.

CRASH Wrestling Out of Money? – Chris Harrington is reporting that CRASH had to cancel an event recently due to having no money on hand to pay the talent. Reports claim that a third party vendor allegedly stole the money, but then again who knows. Here’s his tweet.

Lucha Underground News – The word going around is that Lucha Underground is loosing the restrictions on their talent working elsewhere, in order to keep them happy and wanting to return for a fourth season. This explains why Johnny Mundo/IMPACT is working for both Lucha Underground and IMPACT Wrestling. However, one name that may not be returning at all is Brian Cage. Well he could still work with Lucha Underground going forward, the word is that IMPACT Wrestling is trying to sign him to a deal. This would up their L-U talent even more, with Fantasma (King Cuerno), Texano, Johnny IMPACT, Taya Valkyrie, Drago, and Sami Callihan all pulling double duty.

Next NWA Title Defense – Tim Storm will defend his NWA Championship against Jocephus Brody on November 17th, after the NWA made it known that any open challenge was in effect. Storm retained his title against the former Magnus (Nick Aldis) this past weekend, and now will seek to retain the belt again. Jocephus was part of Billy Corgan’s Resistance Pro Wrestling, before Corgan was kicked out of the promotion. Expect others like Jay Bradley, and Marshe Rockett to pop in with the NWA in the following weeks as well.

Quick Hits – WWE Network has uploaded the NXT reality show onto the network. Sonjay Dutt is getting more pull backstage, with the idea of having Dutt taking over creative to allow D’Amore a little more time to run his promotion and the international relationships as well. Ric Flair will be at Starrcade this month. Cody Rhodes will not be at War Games, cus people actually thought he would be…cus people are stupid.
