El Patron Suspended, GFW/Hardy Update, and More! – WrestleCorp News

Not a lot of news today folks, but pretty important first story at least. We’ll talk the El Patron story to kick off the show tonight over at Mixlr.com/NerdCorp. You could also just stay tuned to the website at 9 p.m. EST to listen to it, but the Mixlr page has a chat room to participate.

El Patron Suspended – Due to the events of Sunday and the ongoing investigation into said events, Ed Nordhalm and Jeff Jarrett have decided to suspend Alberto El Patron indefinitely. No word what the immediate time table is for Patron, but as they’ve finished taping all of their shows heading into the live Destination X event, the general idea is to stand pat until a decision needs to be made. Should investigators come back with nothing, Patron will be reinstated but should they find something, I doubt he’ll be employed for too long. GFW is doing their own investigation into Patron and the incident, in order to come to the best course of actions. Here’s their press release;

Global Force Wrestling has indefinitely suspended Alberto El Patron, effective immediately, until the investigation is resolved following a recent incident in Orlando, Florida.

Jarrett/Hardy Drama – Jeff Jarrett made it clear on a press conference that no deal was in place to allow The Hardy’s to use the gimmick. Since then Matt Hardy, Reby Hardy and Shane Helms have all come out attacking Jeff Jarrett. Not surprising, as all three have done so in the past. Matt and Jeff Jarrett were never close, unlike Jeff and Jarrett. Reby has proven herself to be not just a liar but a liability in all things for Matt, earning the ire of Matt’s own fanbase by taking unprovoked shots at Lita. And Helms have insinuated he was fired from GFW for not sucking up to Jarrett. Who’s telling the truth isn’t clear but The Hardy’s (Reby…) have proven to be the ones willing to play dirty to get what they want, so it’s safe to say they’re not exactly the most refutable source.

Quick Hits – Marti Belle, Mercedes Martinez, Kay Lee Ray, Ayesha Raymond have all been named to the Mae Young Classic. Championship Wrestling from Hollywood owner David Marquez has officially bought into Combat Zone Wrestling, and is now a minority owner; the idea is thought to be to help CWFH tour the east coast.
