Evening folks, welcome to another edition of WrestleCorp’s nightly news blast. As Slammiversary XV dawns on the horizon, it’s not that surprising that we have news and tidbits about that event and more.
Impact Wrestling Announce Team – Impact Wrestling made some major news tonight, revealing that due to Josh Mathews and Jeremy Borash partaking in their match at Slammiversary XV against one another, that Jeff Jarrett has made the call to bring back former color commentator Don West, and introduce fans to long MLB and NHL network host, Robert Flores as the lead play by play guy.
Matt Sydal on Impact Status – Matt Sydal recently returned to Impact Wrestling after a near 13 year hiatus. The former WWE and Ring of Honor star shed some light on his contract status with the company
I do work for Impact Wrestling, but I’m just a straight up freelance agent in wrestling. I can work for anybody at any time. Basically every company calls me up.
Jim Ross on Cody Rhodes – Jim Ross was on Busted Open Radio and spoke about Cody Rhodes upcoming major match in Long Beach, California against NJPW Champion Okada. Ross was very on point about Rhodes needing to showcase what he’s about with Okada. Here’s what he said;
I think it’s a good booking. Cody needs this match. He needs to show everybody exactly where he is since leaving the WWE, because I believe, that eventually, Cody will make a triumphant return to WWE, [as] a much better performer and business man than he was when he left. And he will make a major impact. But right now it’s a great place to see where he is in that evolution. Whether I’m right or I’m wrong, this is a big match for him, and of course, Okada got that pressure that he seemingly now has to have a five star like match everyone outing and that’s damn hard to do
