Zendaya’s ‘Spider-Man Character’, Legendary Director Bored with Marvel and More! – ComicCorp News

A nice, normal day in the world of comics and science fiction….delightful.

Who is Zendaya? – Zendaya Coleman’s character in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming” has been so guarded with who she actually is, it’s lead many to believe that she’s of major signifcance to the story. A report last week claimed that she was going to be the daughter of Michael Keaton’s Vulture, however ScreenGeek.Net is claiming differently, as they’ve used Tumblr and social media to collect “evidence” to debunk the previous claims. The ScreenGeek claim however involves a singular reddit and singular tumblr post that actually reference just the same tumblr post. While others on the reddit page agree and claim the same, that is hardly enough proof for it to be “debunked”. It’s also possible that different regions get different copies of the book, because that’s just how stupid the world works.

Legend Hates Marvel – Legendary film vet, John Landis (the father of Max Landis) has come out that he doesn’t like the Marvel film structure as they feel relatively similar to one another in tone and look. He’s quoted as saying he loved “Wonder Woman” and is bored by Marvel;

I thought it was good. I really liked her – [Gal Gadot] was wonderful, really charming and beautiful. She really sold it. I was very impressed with the girl – the woman!

One of the reasons Wonder Woman has been received so well by the critics is that it doesn’t destroy cities! Even the superhero stuff is on a very human scale, [and] it’s the gods! We’re not seeing skyscrapers tumbling!

I’m just… truthfully, I’m bored shitless with the Marvel Universe now. All the superhero movies tend to be interchangeable, you always have these mass destruction of cities and huge computer-generated extravaganzas to the point where you could take a reel from any of the Marvel superhero movies and put it [in] any of the others and nobody would notice. They’re very well-made, it’s just they’re the same thing over and over again. But, I don’t know, people are showing up.

Armie Wants Shazam? – Armie Hammer is still interested in appearing in a “Justice League” film apparently. Hammer, who was cast eight years ago in “Justice League: Mortal” as Batman, still wants to be in the Justice League, but this time as Shazam.

This whole story started with The Rock putting over Hammer as his choice for Shazam, saying;

I’m gonna throw one name out here and I wanna see how the fans are gonna react to this. A guy who I met, and after I met him I was like, ‘Man that guy’s such a cool guy, he’s a lot bigger than I thought he would be.’ And when I walked away I remember telling our producer, who I’ve worked with for a long time, Hiram Garcia, we both looked at each other and were like, ‘Possibly Shazam?’ I’m not even gonna tell you his name, I’m just gonna say Lone Ranger.

This lead to Hammer replying to the whole thing by saying;

Dude, so Dwayne said that thing and literally blew up my social media. I couldn’t even open my Instagram … I thought my phone was gonna melt. But other than that no one’s said anything. Yeah … I’m keeping my options open.

Quick Hits – Armie Hammer’s “Justice League: Mortal” Batsuit was supposed to be a mech-suit. Marvel cancels “World of Wakanda” due to low sales. Wil Traval not in “X-Men: Phoenix”, just looking very forward to it.
