News: Updates On Paige And Mauro Ranallo, Shawn Michaels Speaks And More

Hello everyone and welcome to today’s edition of The News!! This is the day where I bring you all of the wrestling news you will ever need for your Saturday night. Why would you ever want to go through many websites, searching through various articles when all the news you need is here, on the best website, the top website, the number one website and quite frankly, the only website you will ever need, NerdCorp. Enough nonsense, let’s just get to the news shall we?!?!

Mauro Ranallo Update – It was previously reported that Mauro Ranallo and David Otunga were not on this week’s edition of Smackdown Live. Ranallo was not in attendance since he was reportedly blocked from traveling due to harsh weather conditions in the northeast. On air, it was said that Otunga was not in attendance due to filming a movie. Dave Meltzer hinted that there could be more to the issue of Ranallo not appearing on Smackdown this week in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingInc.com. Meltzer stated Ranallo and Otunga not appearing, “At least half of that was true, since Otunga was out filming a movie.”

JBL was initially critical of Ranallo missing the show. In a tweet that was later deleted, JBL wrote, “I made the show, everyone made the show, everyone. Maybe he shouldn’t have bashed me if he wasn’t going to show up.”

Paige Speaks – Paige posted to her Twitter account to comment on the leaked pictures and video that are making the rounds on the internet. Here is what she had to say…

“Personal and private photos of mine were stolen and unfortunately they were shared publicly without my consent.”

A new video has also emerged which shows a sexual act being performed while Paige is holding the NXT Women’s Championship. While there are a lot of people who will support Paige and I too, do not want to condemn her for anything, there is something about disrespecting a wrestling championship belt. Including all of the fantastic womens performers who have held the belt since then, that is something that is not OK in any way and I am very disappointed in her for even bringing the championship into this in that way.

Shawn Michaels Speaks – Jim Ross recently interviewed WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels for the The Ross Report podcast. Here is what he had to say about a story when Randy Savage told him to slow down…

“I tell everybody the story about Savage telling me to slow down and me saying, ‘no way – it isn’t going to happen; it’s the only way that I can compete with you guys; the fact that you guys don’t hustle and I do is going to make the difference’ and of course, once I got there, what you do is you slow down and you learn how to tell a story and learn about psychology and things of that nature. That’s a part of youth. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing.”

He also spoke about how he teaches younger prospects on slowing down…

“He said, ‘well, slow down, does that mean at the beginning, or in the middle, or at the end?’ And I said, ‘alright, the next time I see you, I’m going to answer that.’ It was just a brief meeting, but I wanted to go and see if I could find an example of what I was talking about and I did. I came back, put on the [WWE] Network, watched this match, it was a TV match, but anyways, all there is, is there are three spots. Three different spots in this match, at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end, where I’m going to show them. Again, if he had just done this here, sold that, and then, somewhere in the middle, come back to that, sold that, now here at the end, if he had sold that somewhere in the beginning, sold that, taken his time, not rushed on, counter, counter, counter, continue to do stuff. But sold it there, sold it there, that would’ve eliminated a couple of these other spots. You would’ve had to have slowed down there. Here at the end, how much more would that have meant when he locks on that finishing move?”
