The Batman’s starting to take shape.  Matt Reeve’s film is set to be a prequel of sorts, focusing on a younger Batman/Bruce Wayne story.  This would effectively mean Ben Affleck’s tenure is all but over.  The current big rumor has Jack O’Connell taking the role; and don’t get me started about another British actor taking iconic American parts.  We don’t go into England and demand to play James Bond or stand around in goofy wigs, do we?!  Sorry…we’re back to the news.

While the O’Connell rumor is picking up rounds, everyone is quick to point out there have been on official contact between producers and O’Connell.    The other big element involves the villain; one of whom is expected to be The Penguin.  He was supposedly involved in The Birds of Prey movie, but Reeves desire to use the character forced the Birds of Prey film to go with Black Mask.  A far more worthy adversary.

In Other News…

The new Mortal Kombat game, aka Mortal Kombat 11, has released a ton of new content from gameplay, story elements and even return of classic characters.  The big voice addition to the franchise is Ronda Rousey as Sonya Blade.  Something no one was asking for.

The 150th episode of Arrow will look to Supernatural for their narrative direction in this landmark episode.  Supernatural has done unique single-story narrative changes from time to time to freshen things up.  The biggest and best probably was the 11th season’s “Baby”, where the entire episode happened in, or directly around the iconic Impala that is featured in the show.  Every shot, angle, and line of dialogue happens in direct relation to the car.  It’s a fantastic story telling element and a great one-off.  Arrow will do something similar, though they’ll tell their story through a fake-documentary.  The episode will be shot in a documentary style with Kelsey Grammer serving as the voice over role.  The episode will revolve around the rise of vigilante’s in the Arrowverse and will air on February 4th.

Shazam director David F. Sandberg commentedon a rumor that the suit for the film cost around $1 million, saying; “I never saw the price tag…..Wouldn’t surprise me though.”

In news that’ll make anyone hopeful, Scott Grimes; voice of Steve Smith on American Dad and co-star on the Orville as Lt Gordon Malloy, has gotten engaged to co-star Adrianne Palicki, who plays First Officer Kelly Grayson.  If he can land her, we can do anything.  WHO WANTS TO TRY FLYING!?!

Jason David Frank revealed he’d be down for playing Tommy as long as he can fit into the spandex, telling ComicBook.com;

I’m going to be honest again.  As long as you fit the role. As long as you can fit in spandex, that’s rule number 1. I’m not saying that in a bad way because remember we’ve got to match Japanese footage, so the Japanese footage we’ve got smaller Japanese people that are doing the moves and it wouldn’t make sense to be like ‘it’s morphin time’ and then you go slender, you know what I mean?
