Cody Hints at Major News in 2019, ROH Re-Signs Big Name and More!

Ring of Honor has a history of losing talent when deals are up.  Guess folks are just not happy with ROH most of the time.  Yet, it looks like this year might be a change of fortune for a few ROH wrestlers, most notably Silas Young.  Young is expected to sign a new three year deal with the promotion according to Dave Meltzer.  There had been talks about him joining NXT but that apparently is no longer happening.

Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks are rumored to launch their own promotion in 2019 thanks to some outside backing.  While Cody hasn’t commented on it yet, he did take the opportunity to address the rumors while in Australia by saying it “…would be bigger than anyone expects.”

For those wondering, Curvo, the wrestler who got hit in the head with a cinder block has been released from the hospital.  He had undergone an operation to remove a blood clot in his head, and is expected to make a full recovery.

WWE is rushing back an injured star after the disaster that was Monday Night RAW.  Braun Strowman, who just underwent elbow surgery, will be rushed back to RAW on next week’s Monday.  This is one of the few weeks that SmackDown beat RAW in the ratings in the modern era.

In other WWE news, Jack Swagger cites Drew McIntyre’s indy success as the reason he felt comfortable branching out and leaving the WWE.  Swagger, now known as Jake Hager has been getting some bookings now on the indies, and can be viewed as many as a success story.

Finally, it appears as though some talents will be going down to the minors.  Tyler Breeze has returned to NXT, working a match with Ricochet at this week’s NXT taping.  There’s no word on how long Breeze will be in NXT or if this was a one time thing.
