Major IMPACT TV Deal, Aro Lucha Lands TV Deal and More!

IMPACT Wrestling will be on Pop TV heading into early 2019 even if they find a new t.v. deal, according to Dave Meltzer.  Why this is relevant has to do with Pop’s plans for 2019.  Apparently IMPACT will be joined by AroLucha, the upstart promotion that Rey Mysterio was supposed to be apart of.

During a commercial break after the LAX and Page/Sydal match went to commercial break.  This isn’t the first time this has happened to IMPACT, as Destination American brought on Ring of Honor during their run on the channel.  Neither show lasted the til the end of the year and eventually everyone forgot Destination America exists.

There’s no news on when the show will air, but it’s expected to take place in early 2019.  The commercial is below.

Following the uncertainty of the television product, at least publicly, Petey Williams went on his Wrestling Perspective podcast, and revealed that IMPACT Wrestling already have tapings set through March.

They’re obviously going to be in Nashville in January for Homecoming and the tapings directly after, starting on January 6th.  Then they’re off to Mexico at the end of January, then back to Las Vegas in February before going to Ceasers Windsor Hotel and Casino in Canada.

So it’s pretty obvious that IMPACT has something in the works in regards to the television contrats.

Ring of Honor will hold Final Battle in December and the main event will be Jay Lethal and Cody Rhodes battling for the ROH World Championship.  Cody’s contract with ROH is up after the match and he’s claiming that he’s on his way out of ROH Wrestling.  He might be setting up an angle, as in today’s day and age there is no truth and no lie that a wrestler won’t embrace to sell an angel; especially on social media.  So is Cody leaving?  Who knows.

PWInsider has confirmed that the WWE has signed a major indy employee Giancarlo Dittamo.  Dittamo was a huge presence behind the scenes, working with Championship Wrestling From Hollywood and even serving as Combat Zone Wrestling’s top creative guy for a time.  Yet, it was his part with promoting Joey Janela with Game Changer Wrestling that really caught people’s eyes.  Apparently his influence with social media and marketing was  a major reason Joey Janela’s Spring Break became a success.

Major League Wrestling has officially signed young up-and-comer Ace Romero.  In other MLW news, Shane Strickland is expected to wrap up with the brand soon, and head to NXT in January; according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

In other departure news, Trevor Lee will also be wrapping up with IMPACT Wrestling soon, and is expected to join up with NXT as well.
