DC Moving on From DCEU? Dick Grayson Gets New Name Change and More! – ComicCorp News

DC Moving On? – The DCEU might be on borrowed time, according to Variety.  Two new reports state that Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill are on the verge of drastic changes to the casting.  The studio is “…reevaluating its approach”.    Unlike with Affleck, who Warner Bros. (parent of DC) wants to replace completely, Cavill might stick around but in a diminished role.  Though these rumors have persisted for months now, but we’ll only know for sure when a formal announcement comes.

DC Changes Nightwings Name – Blame Scott Lobdell, for everything.  Be it DC’s choice or Lobdell’s, Dick Grayson will undergo a name change to Ric Grayson.   Nightwing #51 will be written by Lobdell and Abian Nicieza, with art by Travis Moore and Gary Brown, with coloring by Hi-Fi and Nick Filardi.  The idea behind the name change is that it’s to showcase the difference in personality with Grayson after he suffered a gunshot wound to the head in issue #55 of Batman.

The synopsis of the issue is below;

And while Nightwing struggles to uncover the truth behind the “fear germ” that is killing people in their sleep, he must also try to overcome his own sudden struggles with heights and vertigo. He has lost his primary skill set as a hero and will have to focus on his brilliance as a detective instead. And a distracting love triangle certainly isn’t helping him focus…This new storyline spins out of events in BATMAN #55. Don’t miss the start of a new direction in Nightwing’s crimefighting career!

Quick Hits – Hot Wheels has created a live action version of Rocket League, which you can buy for the low price of…$179.99.  Yikes.  Variety has reported that South Korean service DramaFever will shutter their digital doors, which means no more South Korean dramas for fans.  The DC crossover Elseworld will feature (apparently) the life swap of Oliver Queen and Barry Allen, as seen on the poster.  Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Keto Shimizu told TVLine that the show will crossover with itself; somehow.  Vulture spoke to Dan Houser of Rockstar Games and he revealed that they no longer work with major Hollywood names due to the headaches that they’ve dealt with in working alongside Burt Reynolds and Chuck D on previous projects.
