Why Did WWE Wait to Release Neville, Brian Cage Rips WWE Backstage Behavior and More! – WrestleCorp News

What Was With the Neville Wait? – Well Neville is finally free and more htan likely returning to his PAC persona.  The pro wrestling superstar was finally let go from the WWE after sitting out nearly a year of his career due to ongoing issues with the WWE and how they handled him.  I’ve been told promises were not kept in regards to why Neville sat out.

Well the “why?” for WWE’s decision to wait so long has been revealed by big Dave Meltzer, and it’s exactly what we all thought in the first place.  The WWE waited so long to send a message to other talents that if they’re not happy in the WWE, then they can expect to sit out large portions of their career waiting for freedom.  Because the WWE is petty as fuck, and anyone who defends this behavior is a douche.  The decision was to not let him go was also in part to delay his arrival in New Japan Pro Wrestling, which many believe is a lock for him to end up.  Why anyone wants to work for the WWE still baffles me.

Cage Slams the WWE – The WWE has a toxic backstage culture.  Everyone knows it.  Everyone is aware of it.  The only people that can’t accept it are WWE-twyhards.  From stories of being being thrown out of locker rooms, to bus-brawls, to sexual assault; the WWE has lent itself to years and years of disgusting behavior.  So it’s no surprise that Brian Cage thinks Lucha Underground and IMPACT are the tits in regards to great atmosphere to work at.  in an interview with Andre Corbeil, Cage is quoted as saying;

I was so worried like, ‘Should I go to catering? Should I not go to catering? Should I go in the trailer? Should I not go in the trailer?’ Everybody [at Impact] was like: ‘Oh just do what you want!’ Sting, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe — all these big name guys are so nonchalant and cool about everything. I’m like, ‘Oh wow! This is awesome! This isn’t like a political backstage high school BS like it was over there [in WWE].

In Lucha Underground — oh my god it was even more different than that — but Impact now, since everything has kinda changed though and I’m cool with everybody. Impact and Lucha have a very similar locker room feel. The only is how the show’s ran because obviously, Lucha is more of a TV show. How they structure and how they run it is a little different because they’re shooting a live TV event but it’s not live so it’s a little different. Whereas Impact — it almost feels like a really big indie show if you will — like it’s run, I mean obviously when they do a live taping or a pay-per-view it’s a little different. But it’s very smooth, it’s very easy going and I love it.

Ugh – Francine of ECW fame redefined the term ‘petty today’ after bringing up comments Dave Meltzer made about her twenty years ago as a way of showing that Dave isn’t “kind”.  Despite the fact he was only echoing the sentiment of the ECW fans, who all believed she was strung out on drugs at the time.  Remember the “She’s a Crack Whore!” chants?  Those weren’t just insults, they were a commentary on her appearance.  It should also be noted that Francine looks far healthier today than she did back then, when her ribs and collar bone were poking through her skin.

I don’t know what Francine was doing back then in regards to her health, she may of been absolutely fine and healthy.  She may not of been.  I don’t know.  Yet, her body did lend itself to being seen by many as “too thin”, right or wrong. Ask any medical expert and they’ll tell you that when your hip bones, ribs and collar bone are protruding, you are too thin.  Again, pointing this out so the outrage police don’t come for me next; everyone is different body-wise.  While not a high likelihood, there does exist a possibility that Francine was absolutely fine and living a healthy lifestyle.

But to call out only one person of millions, twenty years later is just the pettiest of moves. This is peak outrage culture here folks.  Getting mad for the sake of mad.   It’s also hilarious that she praised Vince Russo, who we’ve documented on more than one occasion having issues with women and homosexuals.  So, you know, this does appear to be a shady move on her part.

Quick Hits – Joe Koff does not believe ROH is gearing up for a battle with WWE, and makes it known that he’s worried only about ROH.   Despite rumors, there is no heat over the WWE and Velveteen Dream.  Rumors started when Dream was requested by WWE affiliate EVOLVE to work a show near his home town.
