New CBLDF President Named – Congratulations go out to Christina Merkler, who was named the new President of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.  The specific fund goes to help industry voices defend themselves from critics of their art.  Merkler owns Discount comic Book Service, a large comic retailer she operates with her husband.  She joins the board that will feature Vice President Chris Powell, who is a VP – Retailer Services at Diamond Comics Distributors; Treasurer Ted Adams, Founder of IDW; and longtime CBLDF Secretary Dale Cendali, Partner at Kirkland & Ellis.  All of whom are new to the board as well.

Super Smash Introducing New Characters? – The new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate rumors will keep you salivating; if you’re into that kind of Nintendon’t violence.  After rumors of the whip wielders from Castlevania joining the franchise after an online rumor; more have come alive in the wake in order to give us hope, or fear.  So the new names being thrown around the rumor mill include the Gleek Club Chorus Kids from Rhythm Heaven, Isaac of Golden Sun, Ken Masters from Street Fighter, Isabelle from Animal Crossing, Shadow from (kill me) Sonic the Hedgehog, Skull Kid from Majora’s Mask, Dixie Kong of the Donkey Kong franchise, and Banjo Kazooie of his own namesake franchise.  These of course are taken from a 4Chan account with shoddy looking imagery so, you know, grain of salt.  But eve one accidental prediction could lead to years of entitlement.

Quick Hits – Shameless star Emmy Rossum is leaving the series after season 9, and insiders claim it’s merely a professional decision and nothing more.  Rian Johnson continues to torment fans on Twitter by claiming he’s still making his version of the Star Wars trilogy.  The nightmares are back, people.  Netflix nad Blizzard are working on new Diablo series according to Revenge of the Fans.
