WWE Drops Single Brand PPV’s, Sabrina not Going to ‘Riverdale’? and More! – Weekend News Round Up

WWE Ending Single Branded PPVs – Well, the WWE sure doesn’t know what they’re doing anymore. That’s pretty clear. Instead of giving fans shorter events, with more talent who aren’t at the top of the card like the fans want, they’re going to extend pay per views to four hours with more of the same talent. This is what killed the brand split the first time, and the fact they’re doing this again is fucking pathetic and a sign that the company doesn’t get it. They’ve also restructured the pay per views for the year, dropping it to twelve a year. You can see it below.

Is Sabrina in ‘Riverdale’? – After rumors began to circle this summer that Sabrina would share the same universe as “Riverdale”, fans began to get excited over the possibility of seeing Sabrina in the hit CW series. However, “Riverdale’s” Lili Reinhart has revealed that she believes the series to be separate entities. This makes sense, as the “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” series will be airing on Netflix and not the CW like originally proposed.

Dan Severen on Ken Shamrock – Before Brock Lesnar, before Ronda Rousey, there was Ken Shamrock and Dan Severen. The two men do not have a great relationship, and Severen showed this to be true on the Duke Loves Rassin Podcast, saying;

The Sham! The sham in the sense of not following through, the short change, the shim sham dance but couldn’t back it up (regarding their scheduled fight in 2016 being cancelled after Shamrock pulled out due to injury). I should have never gone against him the very first time. When the match was being set up, I questioned UFC [asking] ‘how is this a Superfight?’ The man has never won anything. I’ve been in Superfights in amateur wrestling against people that have actually won things. Shamrock had that sterioded-up physique that the UFC wanted to push at the time. They wanted to push someone who looked like that instead of someone who looked like Tank Abbott. I MADE Ken Shamrock by losing to him in one match. Name anyone he’s ever beat since then. Nobody! I’m not trying to be mean, but I rub people’s face in the truth.

Quick Hits – NXT wrestler Zeda has returned to action. ‘Mega Man Legacy Collections’ may find it’s way to the Nintendo Switch according to rumors. Rich Swann will debut for House of Hardcore on March 3rd in St. James New York. Rumored ‘Call of Duty’ director Stefano Sollima revealed he’d like to cast actors like Chris Pine and Tom hardy for the C.O.D. film. Chris Jericho believs the backstage interviewers should show more personality. ‘Black Panther’ opens with $223 Million weekend (sans Sunday).
