Top WWE Star Re-Signs, RAW Star Needs Surgery? and More! – WrestleCorp News

Top WWE Star Re-Signs – Boy, that’s an odd thing to type out. Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin has apparently signed a new contract with the WWE according to various sources. The deal is for four years, and won’t expire until 2022. The WWE were hoping to get him for more than four years, I’ve heard somewhere near the 6-7 year range, but they settled with the Miz on a four year deal. Miz is currently 37 and will be 41 when his deal expires.

Jason Jordan’s Health Declining? – Ain’t that just the worst? Jason Jordan has been on a roll recently with his promo and character work. Which means that it’s about time something bad happens to him, right? The universe is just mean like that. Jordan is one of the companies best wrestlers and has been thriving in recent months but his lingering neck injury has gotten bad enough to warrant neck surgery according to The Observer.

Jordan’s wife, April Everhart is contradicting this report, claiming that Jordan’s neck is just a “minor” neck injury.

I will address this once…

Yes, “Jason Jordan” is injured. I assure you everything you have seen online is “Fake News!” He has a minor neck injury and will be back in no time! Although, I am very excited to have him home for a bit, I promise, I will help guide him to a speedy recovery! Thank you to everyone who reached out to check on him! He is very positive and already planning his comeback! In the meantime, just please keep sending Nathan and I good vibes!!

That’s like saying it’s just a minor heart condition. Jordan’s injury is anything but minor, and with Paige’ recent forced retirement due to a neck injury, you better believe that the WWE won’t take any chances.

Lars Sullivan Update – Lars Sullivan hasn’t been on NXT t.v. for several weeks now. He was being groomed to face Andrade Almas in a title match WrestleMania weekend, but an apparent knee injury has sidelined him. Dave Meltzer also notes that there’s another lingering “health” issue. No word on what that could be.

AJ Styles vs. HBK? – AJ Styles revealed on India Today that the match everyone wanted, A.J. Styles vs. Shawn Michaels was pitched to the Heartbreak Kid. Michaels though apparently rejected the match according to Styles.

He [Michaels] said no. I’m not doing it. But being in the ring with someone like Shawn Michaels or the Undertaker and being able to learn from those guys will be a blessing. I would love to be in the ring with Shawn Michaels. Similar size, similar styles and to be in the ring with someone like that and all the knowledge he has. It would be a classic.

Quick Hits –
NJPW has booked Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii vs. The Young Bucks in the main event for the February 16th NJPW event in Adelaide, Australia. There are rumors that there could be surprises in the Cruiserweight Title Tournament. We already saw Tyler Bate and Roderick Strong announced, and neither are formal members of the roster, so I guess anything is possible.
