XFL Returning? Addams Family Movie Finds Their Lead and More! – Weekend Round-Up Super Post

XFL Returning? – In news designed to make your blood boil, Vince McMahon is looking at getting back into the world of real sports, and one of those avenues possibly involves the return of the XFL. Vince McMahon has formed a new company, Alpha Entertainment, with the goal to get into traditional sports. The idea right now is to pursue an investments into sports and entertainment franchises. However, that does not limit them from a new potential football league. All of this info came from Deadspins David Bixenspan. WWE just revived the trademark for the XFL last year, so this isn’t a non-story.

Addams Family Finds Their Gomez – Replacing a legend is never easy, but Oscar Issac is set to try to replace Raul Julia. When the Addams come back to the big screen, it’ll be as an animated feature and will focus on Issac as the patriarch, Gomez Addams. The rest of the cast hasn’t be revealed as of yet, but announcements are expected.

Justin Credible Relapses – Justin Credible had a relapse that culminated with him attending an event for Blitzkrieg Pro Wrestling intoxicated. The details of what happened are no longer the story, as it’s shifted to Justin Credible himself this morning. Credible released a statement taking full responsibility for what happened. His desire to take responsibility and be completely transparent about the incident is refreshing. For their credit, Blitzkrieg Pro Wrestling will be partnering up with a non-profit addiction addiction center for their February show, where all profits go to them. So a bad night has turned into a good morning.

ROH Final Battle Results – Matt Taven defeated Will Osprey after an exciting high flying match. War Machine defeated The Addiction. Jay Lethal defeated Marty Scurll in a bit of a surprise, with Lethal hitting a low blow for shits and giggles to set up the Lethal Injection. The Motor City Machine Guns defeated The Best Friends after Sabin survived a piledriver and hit a shocking roll up on Beretta. Silas Young outlasted Punishment Martinez to win the ROH Television Championship. The Briscoes defeated Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer. Post match saw Bully leave his boots in the ring, but this was not broadcasted. The Hung Bucks retained their Six Man Tag Titles against Flip Gordon, Titan and Dragon Lee. And in the main event, Dalton Castle won the ROH World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Cody Rhodes.

Opinion: I’m wondering about Cody’s future with ROH. He’s been a huge profit as a champion, if you believe Cody, so why take the belt off of him so soon? The only thing I can think of is either Cody wants out, or ROH wants to let Cody go, to help shave some costs. We’ll see if there’s anything to this, or if it’s just Delirious being a bad booker. That being said, Castle was the right guy, just not so soon.

Quick Hits – Tom Zenk passed away this weekend at 59. Shazam! to begin filming in early 2018 in Toronto. IMPACT Wrestling scored their lowest ratings ever this past week, but did go head to head with WWE’s Tribute to the Troops. So pause the panic for now. Hailee Steinfeld wants a crack at Batgirl.
