Disney to Buy Fox By End of Year? Major WWE Release and More! – Weekend Round Up Super Post

NXT on USA Network – There’s a report going around that NXT will air on the USA Network on Wednesday, December 17th at 7 p.m. EST. The thought is that it’ll be a one time thing, as it’s WWE Week on USA Network. Several cable and satellite providers are showing the show in that time slow, but the WWE has yet to publicly acknowledged it.

Fox Selling to Disney by End of December? – The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Disney is aggressively trying to buy 21st Century Fox. They believe the Murdoch Family wants some resolution; whether they sell or stay put, by the end of the calendar year.

The combined value is around $48.5 billion, which would include the Fox and TV Studio’s, FX, FXX, National Geographic cable group, the 30% stake in Hulu that Fox has, and international platforms like Star India, and the 39% interest in Europe’s Sky satellite broadcaster.

Disney isn’t the only option, as Comcast, Sony and Verizon are all in talks with Fox as well. The reason Disney is getting the most coverage is focused on reuniting the X-Men and Fantastic 4 properties with the Disney owned MCU.

Jim Johnston Released from WWE – Long time WWE employee and theme song composer Jim Johnston has been released from the WWE. There’s speculation that it was due to a cost cutting move, as their current composers CFO$ have been producing more and more themes. In fact, those with a clue would tell you that their themes for Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura are the predominent reasons why those wrestlers are actually over with the crowd despite the inconsistent booking.
