DC Acquires Major Marvel Writer, Black Adam Showing Up Sooner? and More! – ComicCorp News

Major Marvel Name Joins DC – This is either great news, or terrible news, as Marvel’s top writer Brian Michael Bendis has signed on exclusively with D.C. Comics. No reason why was given as to why DC was so adamant about getting Bendis away from Marvel, considering most of his most recent works were laden with ultra political commentary, and were panned for being just bland and uninspired works. Considering the talents of Scott Snyder and Geoff Johns, one would imagine more out of their hiring process; but here he are. Hopefully Johns and company can keep Bendis reeled in and his more obscure ideas don’t land on paper anytime soon. We’ll have to see how this era goes.

Would J.K. Simmons Return to Spider-Man? – J.K. Simmons brilliantly brought to life J.Jonah Jameson in the Sam Rami films from the early 2000’s. His presence, comedic timing and downright ability to look just like the comics character made him an all time fan favorite. ET caught up to Simmons and asked him about reprising his role, despite his films being rebooted twice since then. He had this to say;

I never say never. I mean, you know, obviously I had an amazing time with Sam Raimi on those movies, and Tobey [Maguire] and everybody. That was a great great time, and huge for my career and my life, and just pure fun. If there were an opportunity to revisit that…. I don’t know, though… how old is Spider-Man going to be if J. Jonah Jameson is this old?

Black Adam Debuting Sooner Than Thought? – There’s a new report running around that’ll see Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, debut as Black Adam well ahead of his own expected film. According to The Wrap, the current plan is to have The Rock pop up in “Suicide Squad 2”. With Rocky teasing a surprise, it’s very possible his role would be barely more than a cameo.

Quick Hits – A scene depicting a fat Thor and a depressed Loki as kids were cut from “Thor: Ragnarok”. Ben Affleck claims “…we’ll see what the future holds” in reference to him playing Batman again.
