I’ve never been a Chris Jericho-guy.  I’ve tried, especially in recent years but damn man.  He’s making it hard to be supportive.  At what 3 a.m. EST, Chris Jericho engaged in what I can only imagine was some drunk-tweeting, calling out WWE, Ring of Honor and IMPACT Wrestling and insulted them for ‘pushing their randoms’.  You know, their random top guys like Jay Lethal, Seth Rollins and Brian Cage.  Guys who have no upside whatsoever.

(Sarcasm)

He then goes on to state that AEW, his new home, is only interested in 6-8 wrestlers total from the three companies.  Jericho then took shots at Zack Ryder and Tye Dillinger, two names long linked as possible AEW talents.  A fan was of the mindset that AEW should look at guys like them but Jericho dismissed them out of hand and proclaimed that he wasn’t interested in seeing them in AEW.  He then called Brock Lesnar fat.

So clearly he had some of that ‘good-stuff’ last night.  It should come to no one’s surprise that those tweets are now all deleted.  Jericho here makes himself look like an asshole for no reason.  Considering how complementary he’s been towards IMPACT Wrestling as of late, it makes no sense for him to now take pot-shots at them and then to bury Cody Rhodes’ best friend in Zack Ryder.

The part that bothers me is that he clearly knew he fucked up, and pissed people he’s friends with off.  Yet he made these public digs at them, but didn’t feel the need to apologize publicly either.  This has always been my issue with Jericho.  There’s zero accountability here it feels like, and I have to wonder if Jericho is ok.  This isn’t his first alcohol related issue, and it might not be the last either.  And I don’t want to hear about ‘it’s nothing, you’re overreacting’ either.  Kurt Angle drunk-tweeted a lot.  He had issues.  It’s not out of the realm of possibility to think otherwise.  Jericho needs to lock his behavior down, before it gets truly concerning.

In Other News…

Bea Priestley, the girlfriend of Will Osprey is on the AEW radar according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.  Osprey has long been a sly opponent to working in the WWE, instead turning them down on more than one occasion to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling.  It’s also likely at some point that he joins up with AEW, even if he’s still with NJPW.  So the news that Priestley, herself a famed indy wrestler is on the radar of AEW isn’t that surprising.  The company is taking care of their closet friends, and at times that means taking care of their significant others as well.  Let it not be implied though that Priestley isn’t talented in her own right, as she is.   But I wonder with other names available why Adam Cole and Will Osprey’s significant others are getting interest ahead of the Mercedes Martinez and Shotzi Blackheart’s of the world.

Quick Hit News – Shane Helms is set to return as a producer for the WWE.  Ariel Helwani, UFC’s number one most hated reporter, tweeted out that UFC star Cris Cyborg was at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida today.  Will Osprey broke a toe taking an arm-drag ;no word on how long of a break he’ll take from the ring, if any at all.
