ROH Re-Signs Major Wrestler, MMA Legend Returning to Pro Wrestling and More!

In some interesting Ring of Honor news, apparently a number of contracts are up at the end of the year.  We know Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Hangman Page (presumably Marty Scurll too), but now we know of Silas Young too.  Young has said that he’s interested in the WWE but emphsizes that he could very easily stay at ROH too.

Well, one  name that isn’t heading towards free agency is Jay Lethal.  PWInsider has confirmed through several sources that Lethal has signed a new deal with ROH Wrestling.  Lethal is currently their World Champion and in the midst of a second reign.  With Cody announcing he’s done with ROH after his title match, it makes sense that Lethal retains.

In other ROH Wrestling news, Jeff Cobb will defend his ROH Television Championship against Hangman Page at Final Battle.

Former ROH special guest ref Ken Shamrock has announced that he’s coming back to pro wrestling.  The 54 year old, who’s still in great shape, announced via Twitter that he was facing off with Gabriel Wolfe at a Battle Championship Wrestling event in Australia on November 30.

The MMA legend was an Intercontinental and World Tag Team Champion in WWE, before moving onto IMPACT Wrestling (then known as NWA-TNA) where he would win the NWA World Championship in their inaugural show.  Shamrock has only had a handful of matches since 2004, choosing instead to focus on his MMA career.

Shamrock was adamant about returning to the WWE a few years back.

The WWE will broadcast a highlighted version of Starrcade on November 25th, at 8 p.m. EST on the WWE Network.  No reason as to why the WWE is going this route.  The event is taking place next Saturday in Cincinnati, Ohio.
