Batwoman Series Coming? – Word on the street is that Batwoman’s Arrowverse cameo is serving as a backdoor pilot of sort to see if there’s traction for the Bat-hero to get her own series.  While the report says she’s getting a series, that isn’t how this works usually.  Usually they see if there’s any hype for the idea, and to see how the series would be done.  With the pilot still be written as we speak by Caroline Dries, it’s possible this doesn’t happen; though unlikely.

However, CW’s greatest show of all time, Supernatural, had two back door pilots killed, and the second was an all female cast version of the show essentially.  So if Supernatural isn’t safe, then why would the Arrowverse be?

The logline for the series reads as follows;

Batwoman revolves around Kate Kane, who, armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet: in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

Assuming the pilot goes to series, it looks like it could be a mid-season replacement or could see its start in the fall.  It might make sense to hold it until the fall, if Stephen Amell walks away and Arrow ends as some expect it to.

Mark Millar’s First Netflix Offering Revealed – A few months ago we reported on Mark Millar selling his comic properties tv and movie rights to Netflix.  Well today we now know what series and movies are the first to be developed.  Jupiter’s Legacy, and American Jesus will be produced as episodic series, while Empress, Huck and Sharkey the Bounty Hunter are all being developed as films.  More on this can be found at the highlighted link.

 

 

Quick Hits – South Park: The Fractured But Whole video game will debut on the Nintendo Switch in September of this year, and the rumored price has it at $19.99.  A new Aquaman magazine cover has debuted, and it’s amazing, check it out.  James Gunn is rumored to be working on a Berserk movie.  Dragon Ball Super: Broly seems to hint at the possibility of the legendary Super-Saiyan being a high ranking member of the Freeza’s unit.
