Netflix Acquires Another Comic Property – After acquiring ‘Millarworld’, Netflix makes another deal to land the ‘Extreme Universe’s’ movie rights. The deal does not include The Futurians but does include the likes of Youngblood and Bloodstrike

Deadline is reported as saying;

Netflix has made a seven-figure rights deal, and Akiva Goldsman will set up and oversee a high-end writers’ room — similar to ones he has run for the Ology series, and the Transformers spinoffs — to generate a series of feature films with connective tissue, anchored by Liefeld’s comic book creations.

Rob Liefeld, the creator of Marvel character Deadpool, released a statement to ComicBook.com about the deal, saying;

Netflix! NETFLIX baby!! There is no platform more exciting and ground breaking then Netflix!. There is certainly no more important portal in my household and I’m thrilled to be bringing my Extreme characters to life with Akiva and the gang! So much exciting news ahead!

Vin Diesel Lands Major Comic Role – Despite the ‘Ninjax vs. the Valiant Universe’ which still hasn’t been released online yet, the folks at Valiant have gone forward with a Bloodshot specific film. They’ve apparently cast Marvel and Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel as Bloodshot. The film is expected to start filming in the summer.
