Justice League Bringing Back Big Name? Star Wars Actor Finds Criticism Inspiring and More! – ComicCorp News

Icon Returning to DC Comics? –  Scott Snyder has big plans for upcoming characters, most importantly though the long awaited return of one; Starman.  In an interview with CBR, Snyder revealed that he had plans in place for several characters, saying;

But having all these pieces from Adam Strange to Firestorm to Hawkgirl and Swamp Thing. And Will… Starman comes into it soon. All this crazy stuff comes in. We find the Martian keeper of secrets.

Snyder’s Justice League run might just be an all star affair.

Oscar Isaacs Is too Good for Us –  Most people who worked on Star Wars Episode VII: The Last Jedi are hell bent on defending it at all costs.  We’ve seen Rian Johnson go after fans on a consistent basis (by the way, rumor has it that his trilogy is canceled?  We’ll see).  We’ve also seen several actors hide the terribleness of the film behind allegations of trolling, racism and sexism and not because the movie was just bad.  Well Isaacs isn’t doing either, and instead following the Mark Hamil approach and giving credence to those who disliked the film, telling Yahoo! Entertainment;

What I think is really special about the whole thing — particularly for people that really didn’t agree with where the story went — is that it’s often a great inspiration to do your own stuff.  Obviously, making your own Star Wars movie is a bit of a tough challenge, but at least from a narrative standpoint maybe you make your own thing and then show what you would want. Make what you would want to see.

The Rock’s ‘Big Trouble’ Update – Word broke last year that The Rock was going to be doing a Big Trouble in Little China film.  Many believed this to be a remake, but The Rock has spoken to Collider about this and revealed it won’t be a remake, saying;

We are in the process of developing that and, let me tell you, the idea is not to actually remake Big Trouble in Little China.  You can’t remake a classic like that so, what we’re planning to do, is we’re going to continue the story. We’re going to continue the universe of Big Trouble in Little China. Everything that happened in the original exists and is standalone and I think there’s only one person that could.

So it looks like it’s a spin-off of sorts.

Quick Hits – A judge ruled that only San Diego Comic Con can use the term “Comic Con” and has demanded the Salt Lake Comic Con, now known as Fan X Salt Lake to pay $4 million in court costs.    The Wrap is reporting that the Joaquin Phoenix Joker film will begin production in two weeks.  The Walking Dead has cast Sons of Anarchy alum Ryan Hurst to play the character Beta on the AMC series.  Disney’s new streaming service will be called Disney Play and is expected to be cheaper than Netflix.
