James Bond 25 Announcement – James Bond’s 25th film is coming after all. With reports that Bond would be be recast and many pushing for British superstar Idris Elba to be the next Bond, there were doubts over whether incumbent Daniel Craig would return for another installment. Besdies Elba, fellow Brit Tom Hardy was talked about for the gig as well. Part of the allure of the Bond series is the change in actors ever few movies. Some would be upset with someone like Elba playing the role, but as set in Skyfall, the names of these characters are nothing but titles. And if the movie that featured Elba or even Hardy would acknowledge this, then I think fans will be ok with a change.
However, no change is coming just yet, as Universal Pictures has acquired the distribution rights and will bring Daniel Craig back to the role, and will place Academy Award Winning Director Danny Boyle into the directors chair.
No Clerks 3? Kevin Smith Explains Why – When news broke a few years ago that Kevin Smith was coming back to make a third and final Clerks film, set ten years after the sequel, fans rejoiced. But then Jeff Anderson, the man who played iconic slacker-rebel Randall Graves, pulled out of the film. Kevin Smith though, hasn’t named him by name but it’s pretty much confirmed. Smith was asked about Clerks 3 and Smith during a Fat Man on Batman Q&A and reiterated that the project is dead, and puts the blame on Anderson by saying;
There was going to be, I wrote it and I wanted to do it, but one of the cast didn’t want to do it and without that person we can’t make it, so no. So I might publish it as a comic book script instead.
For those who believe I’m singling out Anderson, that’s not true. As Smith himself has confirmed Anderson is the one piece to the puzzle that’s always been unsure of the project in the first place. In 2017, he said this to LRM Online about the project;
I want it so badly but I can’t do it without him, it was written for him. But the Randal part is the whole movie, like it’s Randal’s flick. So unless he changes his mind — if and when he changes his mind, I doubt that’ll happen — then we can kind of move forward. I could never recast it, he is Randal, Jeff Anderson.
