‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ On the Bubble? Iconic Comic Book Artist Homeless? and More! – ComicCorp News

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ on Bubble – Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. just finished up it’s fifth season on ABC.  While the attempt at starting their own television universe, in conjunction with their film universe – failed, ‘Agents’ has lasted longer than most expected.  Deadline is reporting that while unsure, the current word is that execs are optimistic of a season six renewal.  Fans have reacted well to the last two seasons, and ratings are strong enough to warrant a renewal.  Many people cite the “Live+” numbers, but most of those come from DVR’s and that means they’re skipping ads.  Ergo, the shows don’t earn the same revenue as others who draw great live numbers.

‘Agents’ is the last of the three ABC-Marvel shows, with ‘Inhumans’ and ‘Agent Peggy Carter’ lasting only one and two seasons respectively.  Freeform is going to air ‘Cloak and Dagger’, while Hulu has ‘The Runaways’, but right now Agents is still the highest profile show on the network.

Iconic Artist Homeless – In what is a sad story, iconic ‘Wonder Woman’ artist William Messner-Loebs has indicated he and his wife are homeless.  Messner-Loebs has had a rough go over the last few years, with both his mom, and wife getting sick.  The hospital bills caused them to downsize to a mobile home that was recently deemed unlivable by the Fire Marshall, after the fire department responded to a gas leak.

Right now Messner-Loebs and his wife are living in a Church at the moment thanks to the Severe Weather Network, which gets those that are homeless off the street during the severe weather months.   Messner-Loebs doesn’t want a handout, just a chance to earn his way out of debt.   Derek Kevra of Fox 2 in Detroit was the one to break the story and got Messner-Loebs to speak on his situation, where he said;

A home would certainly be nice but actually a job… in artwork.  I think a lot of the fact that we don’t have compassion has to do with the fact that we have so many alternative facts about people floating around. Our ideas of what the homeless really are like, of what people who are disabled really are like, that’s so much different than the image that people end up with. I think that would go a long way to making the world a better place.

Since the story broke, Kevra updated the story by saying the couple qualified for a housing choice voucher, and are currently in the process of getting a new home.   Messner-Loebs is most known for his work on ‘The Flash’ and ‘Wonder Woman’ in DC as well as co-creating the iconic character ‘The Maxx’ for Image.  To donate to the Severe Weather Network, you can do so by clicking here.

Scott Snyder Hints at New Justice League Team – Scott Snyder is talking about adding another team in the upcoming ‘No Justice’ arc.  The limited series will see the start of new and dynamic match ups in the DC comic universe.  On top of team’s Mystery, Entropy, Wonder and Wisdom (*see below for roster*), there might be a fifth team; Team Waller.  When speaking at Wonder Con, Snyder revealed the team by saying;

There’s an Earth squad that’s Amanda Waller and Nightwing.

Who else is in the team?  Who knows.  But I’m interested.

Team Mystery: Martian Manhunter, Sinestro, Superman, Starfire and Starro
Team Entropy: Lobo, Lex Luthor, Beast Boy, Batman and Deathstroke
Team Wonder: Raven, Doctor Fate, Zatanna, Wonder Woman and Etrigan
Team Wisdom: Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Atom, The Flash and Damian Wayne
