Roman Reigns Linked to Steroids? – We talked about this last night and we’ll dive some more here. Richard Rodriguez has named Roman Reigns as someone who received steroids from him during his time as a drug pusher. Rodriguez did an interview with Johnny Bravo (HEY! DO THE MONKEY!) and revealed to Bravo that Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel and Reigns were among his clients. Wahlberg and Duhamel are both attached to the Transformers movie franchise. To squash any fears – no, he never named any Autobots as clients.
The DEA arrested Rodriguez and that’s when he named his clients in hopes of a lighter punishment. Reigns was suspended once before about a year+ for Adderall. Well, I should say, for “Adderall”. If this is a new accusation, then the WWE has to act. If it’s not, then they have to come clean and admit the previous suspension wasn’t for Aderall.
Eddie Edwards Re-Signing? – IMPACT Wrestling star and former World Champ, Eddie Edwards was expected to follow James Storm, Lashley and Ethan Carter III out the door after this past weekend. Following the tapings, announcements were made for Chris Adonis, Laurel Van Ness, and EC3, with many suspecting that Lashley’s ‘bow’ was his way of saying good bye.
None of the announcements or rumors involve Eddie Edwards. While we want to get excited about him sticking around, it’s also reported Alberto el Patron’s deal expires in March and many believe that he may be gone too, but he’s also sticking around in the interim. Both men are booked for the April 22nd PPV event Redemption. But does that mean anything? Maybe it doesn’t, but one thing that might is the fact that both El Patron and Edwards are on the new IMPACT Twitch images, promoting the channel. Considering Austin Aries is on that as well, it’s fair to say that the talent on that image are sticking around for at least a few months. So it looks like Edwards re-upped with the company.
As did Patron but no one seems ot care about him.
Redemption PPV Update – Despite Scott Steiner announcing at the IMPACT Tapings that the Redemption PPV would take place from Toronto, Ontario, Canada on the 22nd, that may not be the case. Right now Scott D’Amore and Don Callis are looking at different venues in Toronto but there remains a possibility, however slight, that should their search fall through that they would just have the event from the IMPACT Zone in Orlando, Florida. It seems unlikely that would happen, as I’m told they have narrowed it down to “..2 or 3” venues as of right now. The announcement should come in the next few weeks.
Quick Hits – RAW hit just a shade about 3.25 million viewers on Monday with a Balor/Rollins main event. There was a 700,000 drop off though from hour 1 and hour 3. Even Shane Douglas thinks RAW 25 is a big deal, claiming there isn’t any “red-blooded American” who doesn’t know what RAW is. Former WWE Women’s talent Eva Marie have revealed a blog post talking about her alcoholism.
