Paige Forced to Retire – According to PWInsider, WWE star Paige has been forced to retire. The news is coming as a shock to many, as the injury wasn’t supposed to be this severe. The apparent issue with her injury is apparently not that dissimilar to Edge’s injury that forced him to retire when he was in his late 30’s. Paige is 25. Should the injury report be true, this is just the worst timing. It should be interesting to see if this was the WWE’s decisions or hers. As we know, the WWE told Daniel Bryan he was retired; he never wanted to be. So we know the WWE will force talents to retire. As of right now, the company has not made any mention of this.
IMPACT Wrestling and Twitch – I made a comment last night on Making an IMPACT that I was surprised that Pop TV was allowing the Barbed Wire Massacre match on their show. Well apparently that’s not going to happen. IMPACT has moved the match to Twitch due to the brutality of the match. When an official link is found, I’ll link that tot his article.
Another WWE Star Retired? – Dave Meltzer is reporting that Mark Henry is unofficially retired, and apparently stepped away with very little fanfare. Now, maybe Henry doesn’t want the big celebration of his career; which started out rocky. Maybe he doesn’t want to showcase his in ring accolades. Maybe he does just want to fade away into history. And maybe the WWE didn’t do anything for him because they don’t care. If the WWE didn’t celebrate him by their choice, then that further goes to show you how Vince McMahon and his family view the wrestlers who work for him.
WWE Opposes Trademark – Rapper Travis Scott is apparently attempting to register Cactus Jack as a trademark. The WWE are opposing this, despite not having an active trademark claim on it. Mick Foley has been using the name for years, and even used it in IMPACT Wrestling to a degree back in 2009.
Quick Hits – Deonna Purazzo has signed with ROh on a non-exclusive deal. Similar deals have been offered to Mandy Leon, Sumi Sakai, Jenny Rose and Kelly Klein. Matt Jackson revealed that before she signed with the WWE, Candice LaRae was booked with Joey Styles against the Young Bucks at “All In”.
