Matt Hardy’s Broken Future – According to the Observer, the WWE has been negotiating with Impact Wrestling over some kind of licensing agreement that would see the WWE be able to use the Broken Matt persona without any legal issues. Considering how short of a shelf life the character has, and how bastardize the WWE will make it, it makes sense that Impact Wrestling would strike a deal and gouge the WWE for as much as they can. Anthem has been looking for revenues streams, and a deal that would see the WWE pay annually or a percentage of all Broken Hardy merchandise is smart business.
ROH Bringing in Major Free Agent – In a bit of interesting news, Ken Anderson (Mr.Anderson/Kennedy) of Impact Wrestling and WWE fame, has apparently signed some sort of deal that’ll see him wrestling Marty Scurll at Master of the Craft. He’ll have a chance to win the ROH Television title. It seems unlikely that he’d win it, but Bully Ray debuted and then won the Six Man World Tag Team championships, and Christopher Daniels is currently reigning as World Champion in the company, and the Hardy’s were just World Tag Team Champions. So obviously there’s a good chance Anderson wins the TV title at the event.
Erick Rowan’s Creepy new Gimmick – Apparently the sheep himself, Eric Rowan will be dawning a clown painted mask and will carry balloons out and hand them to a child, juts before he pops them.
Two Sign With WWE – Mike and Maria Bennett-Kanellis are on their way to SmackDown live according to PWTorch. No word yet on when they’ll debut but sources close to them have said they were weighing options between Impact Wrestling and WWE, and the WWE deal was described as “more appealing”.
Major Tour Announced – You can chalk this one up to the first big touring news of the year. While no dates have been given, Impact Wrestling and AAA out of Mexico are touring together this fall. On top of that AAA talent will be on Slammiversary’s card this July and Impact talent will be in Mexico for TripleMania this August. AAA will help Impact tour in the Southern portion of North America, while Anthem will help AAA tour in the states.
Quick Hitter – Shelton Benjamin is a free agent still, and has not signed with WWE. Impact Wrestling uploaded One Night Only: Victory Road, an all women’s event, free of charge to their YouTube page.
