Hall of Famer Back for 25th RAW? – The 25th anniversary of RAW is coming up, and we’re starting to get a picture as to who’s going to be there. Confirmed today will see the return of Jim Ross to the company that mistreated him, mocked him and fired him at every turn. Jim Ross confirmed today he’ll be at RAW and also confirmed that long time pervert and possible predator Jerry Lawler would also be at the event.
Johnny Impact Speaks – Johnny Impact has worked all around the world, most notably in Lucha Underground, IMPACT Wrestling and AAA. When talking with the Ross Report about who has the ‘coolest’ wrestling though, he opted to name a company he’s never worked for, saying;
It is really the coolest wrestling that exists right now; perhaps number 2 behind WWE. I would love to go over there and wrestle more. They have a roster full of characters,” he said. “After watching them, after not watching them for a while, I felt captivated by the cast of characters that really felt like they knew what they were doing. They have a specific style that made it feel interesting to me. Every once in awhile you hit fire; whether it’s the popularity of independent wrestling, or the sentiment that WWE has grown a little bit stale. It’s the perfect alternative to me.
He then goes on to talk about six sides in wrestling rings. This is a noteworthy topic as rumors broke last week that IMPACT was contemplating switching the ring back to a four sided ring, something the company has done twice before. Johny Impact explains his desires to see the ring change by saying;
Best way to explain it is that wrestling should be an escapism; you shouldn’t have to sit there and try to process a six-sided ring. You have to get lost inside the characters, and if they are not, then something isn’t working. AAA uses the six-sided ring, Impact uses them as well. Minor differences, like the corners are a little more unstable. I don’t think there is a major difference to the people who are watching the show, but to me, the six-sided ring seems a little bit unnecessary.
Quick Hits – Chris Jericho has named Ultimo Dragon, Dean Malenko, Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, and Kevin Owens as his favorite opponents in his career. Sheamus is trying to break a ‘naked snow angel’ record. The times we live in today… NJPW has announced that they’re going to allow their wrestlers to appear in the iconic Fire Pro Wrestling video games for the first time.
