IMPACT Making Big Moves This Week? and More Wrestling News!

Fans of IMPACT Wrestling can expect some fun announcements this week.  Following the re-signings of Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan, the company followed up with a formal offer and agreement to a top Canadian indy-talent Josh Alexander.  Then, today, news broke that Fallah Bahh had re-signed a multi-year deal to remain with IMPACT Wrestling.

More signing’s and re-signings are expected this week, and the future of several talent will become clear.  Notably KM, who has admitted his deal is up in a few weeks.  Will he re-sign with the promotion?

Also on the Press Pass on Thursday, the 28th of February, a former champion will be revealed to be returning with IMPACT Wrestling.  While WrestlingINC claims it’s a former “world” champion, IMPACT’s own website and Twitter account only claim it’s a former champion of IMPACT.

I was concerned for some time that IMPACT would bring back guys like Rob Van Dam and Matt Hardy full time.  RVD is working the United We Stand event the Thursday before WrestleMania and Matt Hardy has subtly stated his contract is up with the WWE and won’t be re-signing. Yet, the wording of just a former IMPACT champion has me thinking it could be anyone from a tag team champ, to X-Division, to even Grand Championship.

At least we know it’s not Disco Inferno getting a full time deal.  Though I still hold out hope for a Glacier signing.

In Other News…

For IMPACT Wrestling fans who miss the Friday stream, as I do because of our Oh, Hi! Oh, Guys…Podcast, IMPACT will now re-air the show on Monday’s at 6 p.m. EST.  This follows the news that Behind the Lights, the Santino Marella and Alicia Atout show that talks about things in IMPACT, will now be the lead in to Xplosion, which will air on Twitch every Wednesday at 7 p.m. EST.

Quick HitsRob Van Dam has claimed to have had ‘hundreds‘ of concussions in his career.  James Storm was said to be backstage last night at RAW but rumor has it that he was merely there to take part in the Ric Flair celebration backstage; as Storm and Flair were quite close during their time in IMPACT together.  Yujiro Takahahsi will miss the next set of dates for NJPW due to an eye injury.  There is no truth to the rumor that Pieter has come to me for comfort in these trying times.  And not for a lack of me trying.  The bar for the bottom of the WWE has been lowered past Koko B. Ware as the WWE has formally announced The Honky Tonk Man’s induction.  This news was rumored several weeks back.
