Trent Seven Proves WWE Talent Refuse to Accept Reality and More Wrestling News

Trent Seven has forgotten history, so therefore he is doomed to repeat it.  Never forget, beyond the rumors and horrible stories that surround Vince McMahon’s legacy, the fact is the truth is almost as bad as the accusations.  McMahon broke a promise to his ailing father to never work against allies in the professional wrestling business.  A stipulation of Vince Jr’s take over of the company.  Did he honor that?  NOPE.

The WWE went on to nearly kill the industry, almost monopolized the very same profession that he has so routinely despised being apart of.  Yet, Trent Seven doesn’t get why the fans of the indy-UK scene see NXTUK has a bad thing.

It’s either because he’s dumb, stupid or British.  I’m not entirely sure why I’m ragging on Brits’, you cats seem cool.  Your definition of crisp and chips though anger me though.  And soccer.  The fuck is with soccer?

When asked about working for the Evil Empire, Seven talked to JOE about it and revealed he didn’t get the fan push-back.   He’s been quoted as calling those accusations of selling out ‘codswallop’, and goes on to say;

It’s codswallop. Absolute codswallop. It’s the most pathetic thing in the world. You don’t want to sound too egotistical, but in all fairness [after] what we’ve done in the last two years for the independent scene, for certain fans to turn around and say that now it is ruined, is probably the stupidest thing I’ve heard anyone say. It is quite clear [British wrestling] is at the absolute peak of where it has ever been.

How ignorant does he have to be?  How dumb does he have to be?  How does he not see it?  When your only  motivation is based in money, you’re doomed to be exploited and that’s exactly what’s going on here.  The WWE has their hands up the ass of all their talent.  Of course they’ll deny it, because they can’t look like company stooges.  Yet, the WWE is riddled with strife, injustice and latent issues of homophobia and racism.  Yet Trent just doesn’t get why he’s being called a sellout.

Never mind that why the UK scene may be thriving like never before, it’s an unstable ecosystem that has not been given a chance to settle and take root.  The WWE coming in, signing almost ever top guy isn’t a good thing.  While yes, the upside is that it allows more guys to step up and become stars, becoming a star is not easy nor something that just happens.  Prices go up to accommodate the more vaunted talent, but if the talent leave, and the money is already stretched out, then fans are still paying a premium price for a less-than-premium crop of talent.  That turns fans away.  Then the prices have to come down.  Then talent leave when payouts are lower; and that’s how companies die.

Some only ever make a handful of guys.  Curt Hennig and Hulk Hogan were the two biggest stars the AWE ever made, and guess where they went and what happened to that promotion?

Trent Seven’s comments prove he’s nothing but a gopher for the McMahons, a family of people who lack moral credibility.    You are who you associate with.

In Other News…

It appears as though  Matt Sydal is part of the departing talent for IMPACT Wrestling.  According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Matt Sydal’s deal ended with DJZ’s and Trevor Lee’s back on the 1st of January.  Considering that Sydal has been X-Division and Grand Champion before his injury, and was last seen around Bound For Glory, it’s not like Sydal had a lackluster run.  However, it should be noted that he wasn’t the most impressive talent and while he had a set of great matches in his near two years in the promotion, it’s possible he might not be worth his price tag anymore.   The WWE and AEW are considered interested in him according to Meltzer, and I’ve heard from a friend that ROH would like to have him back as they feel he has a legacy and comes at a fair price but I’m told no formal offer has been extended yet.

Speaking of departed IMPACT Wrestling talent, Sonjay Dutt and Abyss will not be working with Jeremy Borash in NXT, despite Abyss being a name that Borash was eager to see join the promotion.   This according to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson. The duo are expected to work alongside Borash for a few weeks in NXT before working the main roster as agents.  I suspect the influx of NXT talent, and the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles have opened up the need for a few more agents on the road.

In Quick Hit News, MVP debuted with ROH last night working a tag team match with Kenny King against IMPACT’s Willie Mack and Colt Cabana at the G1 Supercard in Houston, Texas.  Jake Hager has announced that the WWE has not trademarked his ‘Jack Swagger’ moniker and is working on obtaining it in time for his next Bellator fight later this year.  Lastly, Meltzer claims the Hardy’s contracts expire around WrestleMania this year, but the contracts have a third year option that the WWE is expected to exercise.
