It’s Time to Fire Vince McMahon, Nia Jax Gets Ripped Again and More!

It’s time for the WWE to fire Vince McMahon.  The board needs to know that Vince McMahon himself is writing the shows that are garnering the lowest ratings ever in company history for their flaghship program, RAW.  The revelation that McMahon himself wrote the show came from respected and trusted journalist Dave Meltzer.  Vince re-wrote the show to lift an alleged somber mood in Houston, Texas on Monday, after President George Herbert-Walker Bush passed away.   The argument that cable itself is dying and that’s why RAW is sinking in ratings is a falsity.  Most shows are within in yearly averages of last year across the board.  Only when you look at several years worth of data do you end up seeing a drop off of any sorts.

The ratings for RAW however plummet on a weekly basis.  That’s not a sign of cable viewership cancellation, but of a bad product.  Couple that with stagnant network subscriber totals, t.v. and house show attendances being awful, and a general lack of disinterest and it’s fair to say the WWE is in dire straights.  FOX and USA won’t be paying out huge t.v. contracts if the show they’re paying for continues to decline in value and ratings.  This is the truth, if RAW and SmackDown don’t obtain a X rating, they will be cancelled and all of that big TV money WWE had is gone.  Fire Vince (and Steph and HHH too) and save the company already.

In more upbeat news, Brian Cage and Melissa Santos may have skipped some steps, but the couple have officially gotten engaged.  The couple have a child together and have been dating and living together for some time now, so this is more of a formality than anything.  Cage proposed to Santos in the middle of his match for Bar Wrestling last night.

Though not everyone is enjoying bliss at the moment.  Nia Jax is under fire again, as she should be, from Ember Moon’s husband; Matthew Palmer.  Palmer took aim at Jax on Twitter, saying;

Hope this unsafe moron doesn’t hurt my wife again.

He quickly deleted the tweet.  Jax has injured many female talents since entering the WWE but because of her size, the WWE has prioritized her as an example of the WWE being “body positive”.  Because of Jax’s perception and possible inroads to other outlets because of her size, she’s viewed as untouchable by many.

In a “ok, but what’s the point” piece of news, there’s a rumor going around saying the WWE is interested in a Queen of the Ring gimmick for the women.  The obvious tie in is that it’s the female version of the King of the Ring tournament, that really hasn’t been relevant in 16 years or so when the last one was formally held in 2002 as it’s own show.  Since then it’s been relegated to an episode of RAW or SmackDown.  This is part of the WWE’s desire to have more female only pay per views in 2019.

Also, in a follow up from yesterday it appears as though Alexa Bliss is still not cleared to get back in the ring, but is cleared to return to training and conditioning.  This follows the news from Dave Metlzer, who reported on both of these stories, that Becky Lynch as well still hasn’t been cleared.  Unlike Bliss, who suffered two devastating concussions in succession after being misdiagnosed following the first one, Lynch is being withheld more due to precautionary reasons I hear.  They expect her ready for the TLC event on December 16th, but right now they don’t need her working.  So she isn’t.

Finally, another wrestling legend has left us as news broke today that Curtis Axel’s grandfather, Larry ‘The Ax’ Hennig has passed away at 82.  Hennig is the father of Hall of Famer Curt Hennig, and as previously mentioned, the grandfather to Curt’s son Curtis Axel.   Hennig was a Minnesota pro wrestling legend and one of the true pioneers.  On behalf of NerdCrp, we wish the family peace in these trying times.
