Black Lighting Show-Runner Denies Allegations, Major New Elseworld Trailer and More!

Black Lighting show-runner Salim Akil is being accused of domestic Violence and copyright infringement by an ex-girlfriend.  Actress Amber Dixon Brenner made these accusations via a complaint to the L.A. Superior Court, and accused Akil of “non-consensual assault and battery”.  Though how assault and battery can ever be consensual is something to think about.  Akil has of coursed denied these charges, and as of right now Akil is still running Black Lighting as these legal proceedings continue.

Just days before Aquaman drops in trailers, Kelly Sue DeConnick will be dropping Aquaman in a new situation in the comics.  The book has been dealing with a Atlantis central theme for some time, but DeConnick will instead be moving him out of the seas.  She told DC Universe;

In order for us to make our place, we had to get away from the Atlantis stuff, even though the Atlantis lore is really wonderful,.  The absolutely fantastic run that we’re following has been doing a heavy Atlantean story. So we wanted to to have a contrast. We’re ambitious, right? [Laughs.] We want to make a hell of a run here. We want [other creators] to be like, ‘Shit, I can’t follow that!’

A brand new poster and trailer for the upcoming DC Elseworld event has been released.  In the trailer you see Stargirl, Smallville’s Arrow (at the very least his costume), Jessie Quick, The Ray and other heroes dead or dying as The Flash (John Wesley Shipp) confronts The Monitor.  The trailer is incredibly dark and gritty, and with hint of Justin Hartley’s version of Green Arrow being involved somehow, that has made me and others very excited.
