Gabe Sapolsky Posts Childish Comments, IMPACT TV News and More!

I meant to add to the two posts that went up earlier today; that did not end up happening.  So here is again two more posts!

Firstly, mild props to John Bradshaw Layfield who did in fact apologize to Cody.  I’d show you the Tweets but we’ve been blocked from his page for some time.  JBL acknowledged on his twitter page that he was drunk, and simply giving Cody the business.   While he’s still a canker sore on the mouth of humanity, this was a ballsy move on his party.  Usually people duck and dodge after they embarrassed themselves, but JBL copped to it.

We’ll dive deeper on this later, but according to the Wrestling Observer, the WWE has a buyout option for PROGRESS and Insane Championship wrestling.  For those unaware, that means the WWE can, at anytime they want, can buy ICW and PROGRESS outright and shut them down.  There was an agreed to price before negotiations, so both companies had to know about this for some time.  The thought process is that they don’t want to compete against themselves in the market.  If you have any doubt that they wouldn’t shut down any fed they feel is taking money from them, then you’re too stupid to be on the internet.  This isn’t a question of if, just when they’ll close their competition down.

In IMPACT Wrestling news, it appears as though the reason the company never could land a better t.v. offer in the past was due to the uncertainty of the brand’s survival, according to Josh Mathews.  On the media call yesterday, Mathews said that other t.v. partners were hesitant due to IMPACT’s shaky future, but as that now has been resolved the company feels they’re in a good place to make a new deal.  Adding to the good will, apparently POP TV is willing to work with IMPACT for as long as necessary.    The network’s deal ends on the 31st of December, but POP has already given IMPACT the green light to keep airing their show on the network until a new home is announced.  This could mean that POP TV gets a second show from IMPACT down the line.  With a partner that agreeable, why wouldn’t you?

Gabe Sapolsky is drunk tweeting again, I think.  A few days ago people dog piled on Sapolsky after he made a series of tweets justifying low pay for workers. Too be fair, I was involved in this same argument; but from a drastically different point of view.  Fans dogged Sapolsky, and he ended up deleting all of his tweets.  Though that’s not all, Sapolsky then started DM’ing people who disagreed with them, and started to harass them.  So it should come to no one’s surprise that Sapolsky is publicly attacking IMPACT Wrestling.  Firstly, I heard from a source that allegedly, IMPACT told EVOLVE to not put LAX in any match featuring WWE contracted talent.  Sapolsky did not allegedly adhere to that.  So IMPACT withdrew LAX from the event, as they were booked against NXT wrestlers, and EVOLVE tag team champions The Street Profits.  IMPACT pulled them, and EVOLVE posted this childish response to the situation, saying;

We are sorry to inform you that Impact Wrestling has pulled LAX off the upcoming EVOLVE dates.

EVOLVE officials were contacted by LAX and informed that they were needed for something else that weekend. No other explanation was given. Impact Wrestling didn’t contact EVOLVE officials and left it up to LAX.

There is no heat on LAX as WWN understands the situation they were put in. EVOLVE officials had told LAX that the plan was to have matches with The Street Profits that weekend. EVOLVE was informed that LAX would not be able to lose in those matches.

In order to avoid any political issues, EVOLVE made one night a triple threat match and the other night a six man tag. This would give the fans the LAX vs. Street Profits matches they wanted, while protecting all parties politically.

Unfortunately, Impact Wrestling waited until the matches were announced and then pulled the talent the next day. This all could have easily been avoided by not allowing LAX to take the dates in the first place.

EVOLVE will no longer consider booking Impact Wrestling contracted talent moving forward.

EVOLVE officials are currently working on a replacement and will have news early next week. We apologize for the lineup change, but assure you that EVOLVE will produce something special on for EVOLVE 117 December 15th in Queens, NY and EVOLVE 118 on December 16th in Deer Park, NY.

Thank you for your support.

Sapolsky puts all the blame on IMPACT, but takes none of his own.  Don’t worry Gabe, I have no problem breaking down why this post is bullshit.

ROH COO Joe Koff has poured more fuel on the All Elite Wrestling promotion rumor by stating he doesn’t see Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks returning to ROH next year.  Unlike certain promoters, Koff took the high road, saying;

I don’t think so, and I don’t think that’s new news either.  They definitely have something in mind… and I’m very thankful for Cody and The Young Bucks and Page and their contributions to ROH.

They were part of our great year. They’ll always be a part of the ROH family and I’m always excited when people choose to take a different direction or go in a different direction because it’s exciting for them as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Koff and ROH are known to work with other promotions regularly and it’s not surprising that Koff is as nonchalant as he is in his wording; he probably expects to partner with AEW at some point down the road.
