Arquette Claims He Almost Died, IMPACT’s Surprise Ratings and More!

David Arquette is talking about his injury in more detail finally.  Arquette sat down with the embarrassing Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated  and revealed to the often misinformed “wrestling journalist” the depth of his injuries.  Arquette revealed that he did in fact narrowly avoid nicking his jugular in the spot that has since gone viral.  Arquette says the cut was to a neck muscle close to his jugular.

I’m very grateful. I’m super lucky to be alive. It was crazy. I got cut in a part of my neck muscle that was really close to my jugular. It’s in an area called ‘the box’ in your neck, and if you get hit there it’s pretty deadly. I’m thinking, ‘I just got cut in my neck, and if that’s my jugular, I’m going to die.’

And despite Game Changer Wrestling publicly dismissing Arquette, insinuating that he was lying about the severity of the injury; Arquette hopes there’s no hard feelings, saying;

It went off the rails a little.  I was pretty pissed. I was at fault for it. Once I got cut, some things happened in the ring, and I reacted. We were both at fault for the neck cut, but me defending myself is how it actually happened. I was in the hospital and had to have surgery to sew up my muscle and clean up my wound. It is what it is. I have no hard feelings with Nick Gage and I hope he doesn’t have any with me.

Arquette also revealed that his love of wrestling stretched ways back, as his father was the one who voiced Jimmy Snuka on the old Hulk Hogan Rock n Wrestling cartoon.

In other, slightly more messed up news, somehow Kairi Sane has contracted Hand, Food and Mouth disease.  The illness isn’t too serious, often showing as a rash and fever in most cases.  The illness is usually in children under the age of ten and is often brought on by one’s cleanliness.  Take that for what you will.

Although high fever went down, I have a mysterious eczema in hands, feet and mouth this time …

Ouch Do you go to the hospital [hand foot / mouth disease] for it? ! (Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease as it is in the United States)

If it’s a disease that infants under 5 years old are examined for, why did did the virus get in my body by mistake? Lol

In IMPACT Wrestling news, the promotion saw their Thursday Thanksgiving special actually rise in the ratings.  They were up 24k viewers from 101,000 to 124,000.  I know I watched the event that night, and I find it curious that their ratings actually ticked up when you’d expect a sizeable drop off.

In other IMPACT news, PWInsider had interest in bringing in Masato Tanaka, former ECW World Champion and Pro Wrestling Zero1 standout for tapings when he comes into the US.  However Tanaka’s schedule isn’t that open, and he isn’t in town for that long anyway.  They also report that Scarlett Bordeaux had one of the longest lines at this past weekends WrestleCade event.
