ComicCorp Quick Hits: Alf Remake Update, Detective Pikachu and more!

For those of you who were optimistic about a new Alf series, tough news.  Warner Bros. was in the early stages of developing a new series about the alien from Melmac bu it looks like that isn’t happening now.  The reason for it was simple, no network wanted the reboot. Nostalgia of given era only lasts for so long, so perhaps this means that the 80’s are being put away once more.

Funny bit for you this time from those wacky developers over at Bethesda Game Studios.  Apparently there’s a funny reference to The Office in the game.  There appears a written entry at one point that pays homage to Dwight K. Schrute’s infamous “Assistant to the Manager./Assistant to the Regional Manager” gag.  The joke can be found at one of the terminals in the park at Okhorn.

The good folks at Warner Bros. also put out a trailer for Pokemon’s Detective Pikachu.   The film looks mildly entertaining with interesting visuals, if not overly polished.

And of course today we say goodbye to Stan Lee, the famous comic book writer and icon of the industry.  Even though I was a DC Comics guy most of my life, I still can see and acknowledge Stan Lee as the single most influential personality the comics world has ever known.  While his later years were surrounded in controversy, it’s important to remember the good someone provided to the world.  Stan Lee made a lot of people dream, and that’s a damn good thing.
